Opening the exhibitions “50 years – Unforgettable Spring 1968” and “Achievements on Economy, Culture, Social, National Defense and Security (1975 – 2017)”

On December 19, the exhibitions “50 years – Unforgettable Spring 1968” and “Achievements on Economy, Culture, Society, National Defense and Security from 1975 to 2017” were officially opened at Can Tho Museum. This is a practical activity of the Museum to celebrate the 73 years of the People’s Army of Vietnam Foundation Anniversary, the 50 years of the Mau Than Offensive in Spring 1968 and welcome the Glorious Party – Mau Tuat Spring 2018.

The exhibition “50 years – Unforgettable Spring 1968”, takes place from December 19, 2017 to April 15, 2018, by Can Tho Museum in collaboration with the Museum of the provinces as An Giang, Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Vinh Long, Dong Thap and Ca Mau, will introduce to visitors more than 250 typical documents, photos and objects featuring the Mau Than Offensive in Spring 1968 and the uprising of soldiers and people of the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho city in particular. This was a turning point of history, an important precondition for the victory of the Ho Chi Minh campaign in 1975, reunifying the nation.

In addition, the photo exhibition “Achievements on Economy, Culture, Society, National Defense and Security (1975 - 2017)” from December 19, 2017 to February 28, 2018 by Can Tho Museum in collaboration with the Vietnam News Agency, will introduce to visitors 129 photos of achievements in the fields of economy, culture, society, national defense and security of the whole country in general and Can Tho city in particular. Thereby, showing the right leadership of the Party, the great contributions of the people in the process of building  the country.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Phuong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho city hopes that the exhibitions will educate the patriotism and revolutionary tradition of the young generation today. Also, he wishes the youth of Can Tho city will respect the history and continue the forefather in the construction and defense of the country.
