“Con Son islet reopened after the first wave of COVID-19 pandemic and many tourists from all over the country visited this place. However, due to the complicated situation of corona disease, the locals in Con Son Islet agreed to stop accepting tourists to ensure the health and safety of the community. Since the outbreak in Da Nang City, the locals had to get information like names, addresses, and phone numbers from tourists traveling to Con Son islet. At the end of the day, they summarized the information and reported it to the local police. Due to the number of tourists coming from many localities throughout the country, including some provinces and cities already have infected people, we consider stopping accepting guests and self-isolation at home to monitor the health of ourselves and our family”, Ms. Ngan said.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the locals in Con Son islet are praised by the press and the public for their generosity when taking care of soldiers on duty in the COVID-19 isolation areas, border areas as well as voluntarily stopping accepting guests and self-isolating themselves to ensure public health.
