In 2019, Can Tho welcomed 8.8 million visitors, up 4.6% over the same period in 2018. In-house guests reached 3 million, up 13.1%, of which international visitors were over 409,000, increased by 12.4% over the same period last year. The total revenue from tourism reached over 4,435 billion VND, up 17.2% compared to the same period last year.

Last year, Can Tho Tourism Association recruited 13 new members, bringing the total number to 82. It now has 8 clubs, including: Hotels, Travel agencies, Transportation, Tour guides, Tennis courts, Cai Rang tourist gardens, Phong Dien tourist gardens, Bep Ngon Phuong Nam (Phuong Nam delicious kitchen). The Tourism Association has collaborated with the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to conduct some surveys to recognize two outstanding tourist destinations at the city-level in 2019 namely Vegetarian restaurant - Hakia Garden, Xeo Nhum eco-garden; bringing the total number of recognizable tourist spots of the city to 15. The City Tourism Association has also expanded relationships and made connections with the Tourism Associations of other provinces such as Thai Nguyen, Ninh Thuan, Ba Ria-Vung Tau, etc.

With the achieved results, in 2020, Can Tho Tourism Association will continue promoting club activities; conducting more surveys, improving the club’s quality and building a system of typical tourist destinations for the city and for the Mekong Delta region. The assosiation will also strengthen the marketing activities and make connections with neighboring provinces and cities.

On this occasion, Can Tho Tourism Association also awarded certificates of merit for outstanding achievements in 2019 to collectives and individuals that actively participated in the activity of collecting plastic waste on rivers, in response to World Tourism Day.
