From November 2nd to 4th: The Fourth Vietnam – Japan Festival will kick off in Can Tho city

On August 23rd, the Chairman of Can Tho city People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong and the Vice Chairman of Can Tho city People’s Committee Truong Quang Hoai Nam presided over a meeting to approve the plan of organizing the fourth Vietnam – Japan Culture and Trade Exchange in Can Tho city (Vietnam – Japan Festival 2018).

On the occasion of the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (21/9/1973 - 21/9/2018), the People’s Committee of Can Tho city in collaboration with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) – Can Tho Branch will organize this event from November 2nd to 4th 2018 at Luu Huu Phuoc park as expected, marking a milestone in the development of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The new points in this event as compared with the previous years are the increasing the total number of booths from Vietnam and Japan and many interesting activities such as: introducing the application of technology of Vietnam and Japan and Vietnamese culture, Japan Job Fair, the Japan – Mekong Business Cooperation Forum, photo exhibition namely “The Peaceful Movement of Japan supporting Vietnam in the War (1954 - 1975) and the friendship  between Vietnam and Japan”, opening Office Center for Information Technology Exploitation between Can Tho University and Japanese Enterprises, starting Vietnam - Japan Industrial Park project, organizing seminar on promoting Japanese tourism and so on.  

The Chairman of Can Tho city People’s Committee Vo Thanh Thong directed the departments and agencies to pay attention to prepare the list of invited guests, negotiate with the airlines to conduct the direct flight for Japanese enterprises to Can Tho city. It is also necessary to prepare the time and content of the program carefully. The agencies participating must specify the tasks and estimate the cost for organizing these assigned ones. The Chairman Vo Thanh Thong asked for having a progress report in early September and the plan to organize the program as soon as possible to serve as a basis for assigning tasks among the agencies.
