According to the organizers of the press conference, the 2018 Investment Promotion Conference of Can Tho city under the theme "Sharing potential for mutual development" chaired by the Prime Minister will officially take place on August 10^th, 2018 at Muong Thanh Hotel. Particularly, the conference has three main sessions and video clips presenting potentials, strengths, investment opportunities, areas and projects planning to prioritize investment attraction and commitments of Can Tho city. The conference will also discuss the city’s desire to become a high-tech service and agriculture center as well as an information technology hub in the region. In particular, the meeting will sign memoranda of understanding, cooperation with organizations, associations, investors, enterprises and issue investment decisions and certificates for several investment projects.

According to Mr. Vo Thanh Thong, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, this conference will announce 54 projects calling for investment on a total area of 4,780ha with the investment capital of nearly 124,000 billion VND, equivalent to nearly 5,5 billion dollars. Projects calling for investment are concentrated in the areas of hi-tech agricultural infrastructure, industrial zones and industrial clusters; culture, sports and tourism, tourism infrastructure; Information Technology; estate (housing, office, trade - service); logistics and energy; transportation infrastructure and so on.

Besides, the city leaders affirm that they do not set up their own policies and mechanisms or call for competitive investments with other cities but in a constructive direction to become the service center and connection with neighboring provinces for mutual development.
