At the meeting, Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam, Vice Chairman of Can Tho People's Committee pointed out some outstanding news in the process of economic development, foreign relations as well as re-evaluating several cooperation programs, projects between Indonesia and Can Tho city in a number of fields in recent years. Particularly, the projects aiming at bilateral economic cultural and education development have contributed greatly to the development of the city. At the same time, Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam welcomed Indonesian investors to Can Tho City and hoped that Mr. Hanif Salim, the Indonesian Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, would continue to promote the relationship between Indonesia and Can Tho City in various fields, especially in aviation, agriculture and trade.

Mr. Hanif Salim, Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, offered his condolences to Vietnam over the passing of Former President Tran Dai Quang and Former Party General Secretary Do Muoi. At the same time, he emphasized the good diplomatic relations between the two governments of Indonesia and Vietnam through photos showing the close friendship of President Ho Chi Minh and Indonesian President Surkano. Mr. Hanif Salim also thanked the leaders of Can Tho city for the warm welcome and said that he would create conditions for cities in Indonesia to become sister city with Can Tho City and continue to call for Indonesian investors coming to Can Tho city for cooperation in the near future.
