Offering a wide range of activities, My Khanh Tourist Village has become a familiar recreational area for families. An outstanding activity is the pig races. "This game is fun. I have bought two betting tickets with the hope of winning the golden pig so that my Year of the Pig will be lucky," said Mr. Tran Van Trung (from Hau Giang Province). In this game, people bet VND 20,000 for one of the pigs (numbered from 1 to 5). The first pig to reach the finish line first wins the game, and the winner receives a piggy bank as a prize. This place has been much more exciting this year than the previous years due to a great number of spectators and gamblers, most of whom think that watching pig races in the Year of the Pig is significant in some ways. They believe touching the pigs brings them good luck, and they will be luckier if they win a race. This Tet, four pig races are held a day: 9:45 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:15 p.m. and 3 p.m. “This place has offered activities and games suitable for kids, so I take my children here. They can play a lot of games either on land or in water, folk or modern activities available here all day long,” says Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung (from Vinh Long Province). In fact, children and their families can enjoy dozens of healthy games and activities in the village this Tet Holiday. Its flower garden of over 2,000m2 with a variety of beautiful and unique flowers opens up and certainly becomes a new check-in point for young people. Moreover, the village is where the Southern Folk Cake Festival has displayed more than 150 folk cakes and rural dishes that quite a few tourists love to enjoy.

The busy and lively Tet Holiday can been seen clearly in other ecotourism sites such as Lung Cot Cau Ecotourism Site and Son Islet. In fact, Lung Cot Cau Ecotourism Site has baskets of vegetables and fruit displayed and sold in its rustic rural corner. The image of their female staff busy serving customers in a rural market session virtually highlights the homely markets in the Southern countryside. Meanwhile, tourists are attracted to Son Islet because of its rural space and friendly locals. “My family is quite busy to prepare for Tet celebration, but I really wish to help other people understand Vietnamese traditional customs and culture via the way our predecessors celebrated Tet Holiday; therefore, I offer some lessons of how to wrap Tét cakes and present five-fruit trays,” states Ms. Phan Kim Phuoc, the owner of the Song Khanh Orchard. Such lessons are in favor on Tet Holiday. She sometimes teaches a group of 70 - 80 people. Ms. Ngo Thi My Nhan (from Ha Noi City) says, “It is so simple and cozy that I feel myself at home. I have learned some cultural features of the Southerners and enjoyed various delicious dishes in the Southwest region,”

At the beginning of the year, people often go to pagodas to pray for peace and fortune for their relatives and themselves. Religious tourist attractions such as Ong Pagoda, Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery become exciting destinations for a lot of tourists to Can Tho City this Tet Holiday. “On our arrival in Can Tho,” says Ms. Le Thi Thu Van (from Hau Giang Province), “we have stopped by Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery. Our habit is visiting pagoda every new year to pray for fortune and peace for our family.”  Northern, Central and foreign tourists to Can Tho City usually want to visit Cai Rang Floating Market on Tet Holiday.  The market was busy with the hustle and bustle of canoes before Tet Holiday. During Tet, the market is not very crowded because most vendors have gone back to their hometowns for family reunion and Tet celebration. However, many tourists decide to visit the floating market. “Although I cannot see how crowded the market is as usual, it is alright because I just come here to learn the Southwest culture. That's enough,” says Ms. Tran Thanh Ha (from Da Nang City). Many tourists travel to the market to take photos or simply enjoy a different sight of the floating market on Tet Holiday_ quiet and simple.”

The busiest showplace in Can Tho during Tet is absolutely the Spring Flower Show Street. Thousands of tourists have come here and taken photos every day. Ms. Lam Minh Ngoc (from An Giang Province) says to us, “In Can Tho, I have visited a few places such as the pedestrian bridge, Binh Thuy Ancient House and particularly the Spring Flower Show Street. Not only are there a wide variety of fresh and beautiful flowers, but the street also has various figures and cute designs suitable for everyone to take photos. I like the pinwheels the most because of their attractiveness and liveliness.” Similarly, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh (from Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) comments, “The Spring Flower Show Street this year looks beautiful, modern and fresh.” Another entertaining attraction is the JAM Can Tho Container Complex (Con Khuong Villas, Tran Van Giau Street, Cai Khe Ward). It is considered an ardent and new entertainment site in Can Tho with lots of impressive activities, namely, folk games, one-of-a-kind bingo shows of Huong Nam and Saigon Tan Thoi troops, EDM shows, special dishes and the Food Challenge Fast-food Contest. Mr. Truong Hoang Nam (from Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) states, “I did not know where to go in Can Tho at night on Tet Holiday some years, but I have come to this funny recreational area this year. Interesting bingo shows and music performances take place every night.” Nightly, this place attracts hundreds of participants. Sometimes, the seats are all taken.

Activities in many tourist attractions and recreational spots in Can Tho City have been greatly diversified this year, which is appealing to visitors on Tet Holiday.
