Student from Can Tho City Won “Top Coder” Award at International Wecode Competition 2018

According to Can Tho City Department of Education and Training, Can Tho team of 12 members won big awards at the International WeCode and Robothon competitions of the STEAM International Challenge 2018 in Shenzhen City (China).

At the WeCode International Competition, Ngo Phi Yen from Binh Thuy Elementary School (Binh Thuy District) won the ‘Top Coder’ award and Ma Yen Binh from Ngo Quyen Elementary School (Ninh Kieu District) won the “Effort” awards. In addition, Phan Hong Minh Khoi (Ngo Quyen Elementary School) and Do Trung Kien (Vo Truong Toan Elementary School) received “WeCode Finalists” certificates.

International WeCode and Robothon competitions of the STEAM International Challenge 2018 is an international programming playground for elementary and secondary students from Southeast Asian countries. Students can participate in these competitions individually or in team.

This year, the event was organized on November 25th in Shenzhen City (China) with the participation of 150 student teams from eight Southeast Asian countries and the host country, China. To participate in this event, Vietnam sent its contestants in 37 teams from elementary and secondary schools in four major cities - Ha Noi, Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho.
