At the meeting, the Minister of State for Public Administration emphasized the importance of Can Tho oncological hospital project. He said that this is not simply a construction investment project, but it is also a typical model for subsequent projects between the two countries and a proof for the successful bilateral cooperation between Hungary and Vietnam. In addition, the Minister of State for Public Administration also reported good news to the Can Tho city's leaders that the EXIM bank of Hungary will continue to disburse to complete the project and put the hospital into use as soon as possible.

The 500-bed Can Tho Oncological Hospital with total investment of over 1.727 billion VND. The ODA loan of the Government of Hungary is 56.99 million euros (more than 1.395 billion VND), accounting for 80.8%, the rest is the counterpart fund of Can Tho city. The project is guaranteed by the Ministry of Finance and approved by the People's Committee of Can Tho City according to Decision No. 223/QD-UBND dated 25/01/2017 with a loan from the EXIM bank of Hungary. The groundbreaking ceremony of Can Tho City Oncological Hospital is on October 11^th, 2017. Up to now, the office building and the ground leveling are 100% completed. The value of contractors has been estimated up to about 15 billion. Currently, the contractor has completed 14/18 bidding packages.

Besides, in terms of educational aspects, Mr. Csaba Balogh said that Hungary and Vietnam are cooperating in giving the scholarships to students in the fields related to the cooperation projects between two countries, especially in healthcare sector and other necessary majors. Moreover, the Hungarian government encouraged Vietnamese students to study Hungarian as this is also an opportunity for Vietnamese future generations to approach the Hungarian culture, language and people as well as promoting further cooperation and strengthen the ties between two countries.

At the meeting, Mr. Dao Anh Dung, Permanent Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Can Tho city thanked and highly appreciated the Hungarian Government's support for the Can Tho oncological hospital project. Mr. Dao Anh Dung also said that the city will continue to manage and implement the project competently, soon put the hospital into operation to serve the citizens. At the same time, Mr. Permanent Vice Chairman of People's Committee of Can Tho city appreciated the Hungarian Minister of State for Public Administration’s ideas in the field of education and training cooperation and affirmed that there will be guidance and proposals for scholarships giving to students and staff studying in Hungary.
