The photo exhibition took place from 18/12/2018 to 15/4/2019. The exhibition displays 119 documentary and artistic photos to introduce visitors the achievements in the fields of politics, economics, social culture, national defense and security, contributing to claim the indispensable position of Can Tho city in the Mekong Delta region in particular and Vietnam in general. Besides, there are many valuable pictures recording important events of Can Tho over the past 15 years such as the ceremony to announce Can Tho becoming a city directly under the Central Government, ceremony to recognize Can Tho as a class-I city, visits of leaders of the Party and Government in Can Tho...

The theme "Money in trade then and now" introduces over 800 images and objects like coins, banknotes, money orders, treasury bills and cashing tools namely calculating tray, cash register ... Particularly, the exhibition also introduces many kinds of foreign currency circulated in Vietnam, showing that our country has traded with other countries in the world; articles on circulation and issue of money and prices in the early twentieth century, helping visitors to understand more about some kinds of money and objects of trade that have been circulated in Vietnam from the nineteenth century to the present.

Speaking at the Opening Ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Phuong, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho, hoped that the photo exhibition and display will contribute to the education of national pride and raise people’s awareness of the historical traditions, in order to build Can Tho into a civilized and modern city in the coming time.
