23 new national intangible cultural heritages

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has decided to announce 23 national intangible cultural heritage.
Tứ Linh (Four Holy Beasts) Boat Race of An Hai and An Vinh Commune in Ly Son District, Quang Ngai Province.

Accordingly, 23 cultural icons which are added to the list of National Intangible Cultural Heritage List are:

1. Salt-making craft in Bạc Liêu province (Vĩnh Hậu Commune, Vĩnh Thịnh Commune, Hòa Bình District; Long Điền Đông Commune, Điền Hải Commune, Long Điền Tây Commune, Đông Hải District, Bạc Liêu Province)

2. Fireworks festival (Quảng Uyên Town, Quảng Hòa District, Cao Bằng Province)

3. Lullaby singing of Vietnamese people in the city of Cần Thơ

4. Nau M'Pring (Folk music) of the M'Nong ethnic group (Tuy Đức District, K'rông Nô District, Đắk Mil District, Đắk Rlấp District, Đắk Song District, Đắk G'long District, Cư Jut District, Gia Nghĩa Town, Đắk Nông Province)

5. Pang Phoóng (express love and gratitude to ancestors) festival of the Khang ethnic group (Rạng Đông Commune, Tuần Giáo District, Điện Biên Province)

6. The fire dance festival of the Red Dao ethnic group (Thượng Sơn Commune, Vị Xuyên District, Hà Giang Province)

7. Quát Temple Festival (Yết Kiêu Commune, Gia Lộc District, Hải Dương Province)

8. Sượt Temple Festival (Thanh Bình Ward, Hải Dương Provincial city, Hải Dương Province)

9. Bơi Trải Đền festival (a traditional rowing race), Ngọ Dương Pagoda (An Hòa Commune, An Dương District, Hải Phòng City)

10. Decoration art in the traditional costume of Pa Dí ethnic people (Mường Khương District, Lào Cai Province)

11. Decoration art in the traditional costume of Red Dao ethnic people (Sa Pa District, Lào Cai Province)

12. The Naox Lungx rituals (Giving thanks to the forest) of the Mông ethnic group (Si Ma Cai District, Lào Cai Province)

13. Mo thổ công bản rituals (offering to the Land Genie of the village) of the Tày ethnic group (Văn Bàn District, Lào Cai province)

14. Ceremony of forest worship of Giáy people (Văn Bàn District, Lào Cai Province)

15. Then Khoăn rituals (pray-for-longevity ceremony) of Tày ethnic people (Văn Bàn District, Lào Cai Province)

16. Sai Nga conical hat-making craft (Cẩm Khê town, Cẩm Khê District, Phú Thọ Province)

17. Tết Nhảy Festival of Dao group in (Yên Lập District, Phú Thọ Province)

18. Bà Thu Bồn Festival of Duy Tân Commune of Duy Xuyên District, and Quế Trung Commune of Nông Sơn District, Quảng Nam Province

19. Bà Phường Chào Festival in Đại Cường Commune, Đại Lộc District, Quảng Nam Province

20. Tứ Linh (Four Holy Beasts) Boat Race of An Hải Commune and An Vĩnh Commune in Lý Sơn District, Quảng Ngãi Province

21. Pía cake-making craft (Phú Tâm Commune, Thuận Hòa Commune, An Hiệp Commune in Châu Thành District, Sóc Trăng Province)

22. Mạng Ma rituals (pray-for-health ceremony) of Xinh Mun Dạ ethnic group in the Northern province of Sơn La

23. Kin Pang Then rituals of the Thái ethnic group in the Northern province of Điện Biên.

These recognized intangible cultural heritages are divided into the five categories of traditional handicrafts, traditional festivals, folklore art, social practices and beliefs, and folklore knowledge.

The ministry assigned the authorities at all levels in localities where intangible cultural heritages are located to be responsible for the management of the heritages within the scope of their duties and following the law and regulations on cultural heritages.
