This year, due to the negative impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, Con Son islet is expected to receive about 20,000 visitors, a decrease of nearly 30% compared to 2019. Its revenue only reached about 2 billion, down 50% compared to last year. The club has 3 new members, bringing the total to 53 members. The members of the club work together to build many new products and services. Particularly, the program “New Day in Con Son” attracts many travel agencies and tourists. The club works with nearly 50 partners, 10 more partners compared to last year.

The club maintains and actively participates in social and community activities like presenting 50 gifts to poor families in Con Son Islet, making 1,000 tet cakes, and mobilizing necessities to donate to soldiers who oversee disease prevention and control at border areas. The club also has a self-help fund of 150 million VND, in order to provide financial support to startup members.

In the past 2 years, the club has implemented the protection of landscape and environment through the project “Con Son islanders limit the use of plastic bags”. This project encourages people to use environmentally friendly materials such as cornstarch, lotus leaves, rice, and so on. Moreover, the club organizes English classes, travel courses, first aid training, etc.

The club has set a number of goals for the year 2021 such as increasing the number of members to 70; raising a self-help fund to 250 million VND; developing more new products and services; expanding and working with more partners; Widening knowledge and improving skills in tourism, etc.
