At Can Tho's side, participants are Mr. Le Quang Manh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho city, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city, and representatives of relevant departments and agencies.

At the Republic of Korea (RoK)

At the working session, SK Group representatives introduced an overview of the value chain of the hydrogen used in Korea and developing countries. Particularly, they stressed the role of hydrogen in building a clean energy economy in the future.

Hydrogen is a clean energy source to replace renewable energy, with many potential applications in the field of transportation and power generation, serving the needs of power plants. Therefore, the SK group aimed to build a clean hydrogen model by optimizing liquified natural gas (LNG) infrastructure and carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology in Vietnam. Besides, SK group representatives also provided more information on the trend of using renewable energy as well as the growth potential for the hydrogen’s demand in the fuel cell power generation market.

SK Group wishes to set up long-term cooperation with Vietnam, including the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho, which has substantial potential in hydrogen development and high-tech production.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Le Quang Manh, Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho city,  presented the strengths of Can Tho city as well as the potential and advantages of developing renewable energy projects, especially on wind and solar power. This is an advantage and prospect for Can Tho city and the Republic of Korea (RoK) conglomerate SK Group to cooperate in investment and development of clean energy projects in the Mekong Delta in general and Can Tho city in particular. He also called on SK Group to pour investment into auto manufacturing and pharmaceutical projects, as well as building infrastructure at industrial parks and logistics centers.

Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city, expressed his hope that the group will develop a hydrogen ecosystem and LNG warehouses in the city. He also stressed that the city will report to the Prime Minister for policies to promote the implementation of SK Group's projects.
