The 5 new air routes are Can Tho - Hai Phong, Can Tho - Vinh (Nghe An), Can Tho - Thanh Hoa, Can Tho - Nha Trang (Khanh Hoa), Can Tho - Da Lat (Lam Dong). These direct air routes are scheduled to commence on April 26th, 2019.

With these new routes, Vietjet is the airline with the most flights to and from Can Tho. According to Vietjet, the Can Tho - Hai Phong will operate return flights daily with the flying time of nearly 1 hour 55 minutes per leg. Can Tho - Vinh route (Nghe An) will operate return flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays with the flying time of around 1 hour 50 minutes per leg. Can Tho - Thanh Hoa route will operate return flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays with the flying time of about 1 hour 55 minutes per leg. Can Tho - Nha Trang will operate return flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Its flight time is about 1 hour per leg. Can Tho - Da Lat route will operate return flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Flying time is about 45 minutes per leg.

Speaking at the Ceremony, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc praised Vietjet's efforts and achievements, especially the opening of 5 new routes at Can Tho International Airport. He said "Vietnam has an annual growth rate of 6 to 7%, over 100 million people use Vietjet, about 80% of foreign tourists come to Vietnam by air. I suggest that Vietjet calculate and research to open more international routes to facilitate tourism in Vietnam. I hope that enterprises will accompany the Prime Minister to boost the water, land and air transport systems in the Mekong Delta. I ask the Minister of Transport to quickly upgrade the infrastructure of Vietnam airport system and ensure its security. Currently, the tourism service of the Southwest region is still limited, I hope that other provinces will study Can Tho city to have more good tourism products and better infrastructure for attracting visitors to stay and return to the Southwest region, contributing to the tourism development of the Mekong Delta”.
