At the meeting, Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam presented the strengths of Can Tho city as well as several outstanding achievements in the socio-economic development process of the city over the years. He also expresses happiness when the bilateral relations between Japan and Vietnam are becoming better and better, especially in the fields of agriculture, culture and trade promotion. Through the visit, the Vice Chairman of Can Tho City’s People's Committee asked Mr. Fukada Hiroshi and Mr. Mitsuru Mitani to encourage Japanese enterprises to invest heavily in the city as well as connecting Can Tho with Japanese cities to co-develop and maintain a deep strategic partnership to achieve common goals for peace and economic growth.

Mr. Fukada Hiroshi expressed his gratitude towards the warm welcome of the city leaders and he was impressed by the rapid development of Can Tho city. He believes that Can Tho will become a major development center of the South Vietnam in many areas and that the friendly relationship between Can Tho and Japan will become more and more stable.

As an advisor "Hokuriku Association of Investment Promotion Enterprises (including 3 provinces of Ishikawa, Toyama, Fukui) and Vietnam, Mr. Fukada Hiroshi said that in the near future, there will be survey teams coming to Can Tho to seek suitable investment cooperation opportunities and to promote economic, trade exchanges between businesses of both sides, especially in the field of distribution and processing of agricultural and aquatic products. Furthermore, Mr. Fukada Hiroshi emphasized the important role of human resource training and believed that Can Tho has the full opportunity to become the engine leading the agricultural sector if taking advantage of human resources properly for socio-economic development, bringing the partnership and cooperation of two nations to a whole new level.

Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam thanked Mr. Fukada Hiroshi and Mr. Mitsuru Mitani for their supports and suggestions. At the same time, he said that Can Tho will always prioritize Japanese investors and the city leaders will create the most favorable conditions to support Japanese enterprises investing in the city.
