64 groups and individuals were commended for their efforts in implementing the "All People Protecting National Security" movement during the 2018 - 2023 period

On the evening of September 7th, in Can Tho City, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Central Committee and the Ministry of Public Security organized a "Conference to Commend Exemplary Models, Officers, Members, and Youth in the "All People Protecting National Security" Movement, period 2018 - 2023." The event was attended by Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association; Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, along with delegates from various provinces and cities in the Southern and South-Central regions.
64 groups and individuals with outstanding achievements in implementing the "All People Protecting National Security" movement during the 2018 - 2023 period participated in the conference.

Over the past 5 years, guided by the instructions of the public security force and youth organizations, young people nationwide have actively engaged in various models, propaganda activities, legal education, crime prevention, and the maintenance of public security in residential areas. Youth organizations at all levels have closely cooperated with local public security to carry out numerous effective, clear, and comprehensive activities. The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, in collaboration with the public security force, has diligently and effectively fulfilled tasks related to "Building the All People Protecting National Security movement," "Struggling to protect the Party's ideological foundation, rejecting incorrect and hostile views, combating drug abuse among youth, educating and rehabilitating juvenile offenders, reintegrating them into the community, educating and rehabilitating slow-progress youth, participating in maintaining traffic safety and order, participating in the construction of a national population database, and implementing Project 06 at the grassroots level." In addition, public security and youth organizations at all levels have cooperated to organize more than 43,000 anti-drug propaganda campaigns with the participation of approximately 22,700 individuals, printed nearly 46,000 handbooks and informational materials on drug prevention, and disseminated over 43,000 articles and messages through various public information channels, social media, websites, and fan pages of local police and youth organizations...

Furthermore, the creative activities and initiatives carried out by youth forces have brought about positive changes in maintaining security and order. This is exemplified through activities such as the "Journey of Trust," "Igniting the Dreams of Redemption," "For a Bright Tomorrow," and various campaigns such as "Youth Volunteering to Safeguard Traffic Safety" and "Youth with Traffic Culture." Youth organizations at all levels have provided guidance and instructions for establishing youth security squads in residential areas. Notable examples include the "SOS72 Free Traffic Incident Support Club" in Ba Ria City, Ba Ria - Vung Tau Province, and the "Drug-Free Zone Club" in Co Thap A Hamlet, Nguyet Hoa Commune, Chau Thanh District, Tra Vinh Province. These proactive participation activities in ensuring law and order by youth forces have indeed proven effective and contributed positively to the national security protection mission, the maintenance of social order and safety, and the country's socio-economic development.

Mr. Nguyen Khac Tri, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dai Son Ward, Phan Rang City, Thap Cham, Ninh Thuan Province, representing the ward's Youth Union, received the commendation from the Ministry of Public Security for the "Youth Security Squad" model. He mentioned that the squad has been active since 2014, and to date, 12 young individuals regularly patrol at night and collaborate with other forces to ensure security during major holidays. Mr. Nguyen Khac Tri shared that receiving commendation from the Ministry of Public Security at today's conference is a significant motivation for him and his fellow comrades to continue their efforts in the future.

At the conference, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, noted that the conference serves as an opportunity for provinces and cities to meet, exchange experiences, learn best practices, commend and reward exemplary models, groups, and individuals involved in building and actively participating in the "All People Protecting National Security" movement. It also provides a platform to propose strategies, solutions, effective practices, and practical activities to further expand the reach and achieve more significant results in the "All People Protecting National Security" movement. This effort aims to unite the entire population in safeguarding the homeland and truly represents a movement that resonates with the people and holds great significance.

Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of the Central Youth Union and Chairman of the Vietnam Student Association, emphasized that in each stage of the country's development, Vietnamese youth will always embrace new opportunities, new demands, new challenges, and new tasks to jointly contribute to combating non-traditional security issues, especially cybersecurity, which is increasingly impacting countries worldwide, including Vietnam, with the younger generation being the most affected.

Addressing the conference, Mr. Nguyen Minh Triet outlined that in the coming period, the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union should focus on further improving the work of propaganda, and education, and enhancing the proactive role of youth in maintaining law and order. This includes a strong emphasis on innovating the content and methods of education, robust digital transformation, grasping public opinion, guiding the youth's thinking, resolutely adhering to the principle of " Employing goodness to erase badness" reinforcing positive information dissemination while countering negative information, and promoting the elements of "self-education" and the spirit of " The aspiration to contribute is the essence of youth life" It is essential to persistently implement and enhance the effectiveness of the "Youth Vanguard Protecting the Homeland" movement, as well as leverage youth models and activities in participating in the safeguarding of political security and social order and strengthening the coordination between youth organizations and the public security in various localities to effectively carry out their missions.

The "All People Protecting National Security" movement is a major and crucial policy of our Party and State, contributing effectively to mobilizing the resources of the entire population to uphold political security and social order. The 64 outstanding exemplary models, Party members, and youth members honored at the conference represent 64 vibrant stories of relentless effort, unwavering perseverance, and fearlessness in the face of difficulties and dangers. Despite coming from different regions and holding various positions, these 64 models share a burning passion, enthusiasm, and a desire for creativity, dedicating their youth to the cause of building and safeguarding the homeland.
