The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism suggested that during excavation, implementing agencies need to protect the stratigraphy of the archaeological dig site; propagate the protection of cultural heritage to local people, and announce the official conclusions only with the agreement of the management agency and the Department of Cultural Heritage. Can Tho Museum, and the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City are responsible for reporting to the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism plans to protect and promote the value of artifacts that collected in the excavation. After excavation, these agencies make a preliminary report and propose a plan for management and protection of the excavated area within one month and a scientific report within one year, and submitted it to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Before announcing the results of the excavation, the agency that is granted the permit shall discuss and agree with the Department of Cultural Heritage.
Oc Eo Nhon Thanh Cultural Archaeological Relic with special historical, cultural, and scientific value was recognized as a city-level relic on October 20th, 2014, and was proposed for recognition as the National level relic. Four of the excavated artifacts namely Linga-yoni wood, Nhon Thanh pottery, Nhon Thanh mold, and Nhon Thanh Buddha Statue are recognized as National Treasures.
