Can Tho currently possesses 38 recognized cultural and historical relics, including 14 at the national level and 24 at the city level. Among the 14 nationally recognized relics, 7 are located in the Binh Thuy district, with many of them being effectively utilized for tourism.

One of the most well-known relics is Binh Thuy Temple, with a history of over a century. It was recognized as a National Architectural and Artistic Relic in 1989. The Ky Yen Thuong Dien Festival on the 4th lunar month and the Ky Yen Ha Dien Festival on the 12th lunar month are two major annual festivals held at the temple, featuring traditional rituals and unique activities that attract a large number of tourists. The Ky Yen Festival of Binh Thuy Temple has been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages. Mr. Tran Tien Trung from Hanoi shared, "My impression when visiting Binh Thuy Temple is its unique architecture. The guide's introduction to the temple's festivals and cultural activities was very informative."

Meanwhile, Binh Thuy Ancient House, officially known as the National Architectural and Artistic Relic of Duong Family Temple, was built in 1870 and is the oldest house among the over 30 ancient houses in Binh Thuy. The house has been preserved almost intact, featuring a unique architectural blend of Eastern and Western cultures and housing many valuable antiques. It is also one of the most attractive destinations in Binh Thuy, drawing a large number of international tourists.

The Memorial Site of Valedictorian Bui Huu Nghia is an important historical relic associated with a prominent figure and is a source of pride for Binh Thuy, and Can Tho City as a whole. At this memorial site, there is the tomb of Mr. Valedictorian, built with laterite in 1872. Every year, on the 21st day of the lunar January, the authorities and people of Binh Thuy district hold a solemn ceremony to commemorate the Valedictorian Bui Huu Nghia, honoring his contributions. This event is also a significant cultural and tourism occasion.

In the Binh Thuy district, there are many other meaningful relics such as the Special Commissioner's Office of the An Nam Communist Party, Long Quang Ancient Pagoda, Hoi Linh Ancient Pagoda, Nam Nha Hall, and Vuon Man military base,… all of which are favorite places for tourists to learn about local culture and history. Binh Thuy district is currently collaborating with relevant agencies and authorities to promote the Hung Kings' Temple in attracting both local and distant tourists. The Hung Kings' Temple, a cultural and religious landmark, has been operational since 2022 and is recognized as a typical cultural and tourism point in the Mekong Delta region. With a unique architectural design and nearly 4 hectares of land, it stands out not only in Can Tho but also in the Mekong Delta. Every year, the Hung Kings' Temple hosts the Hung Kings' Anniversary, attracting a large number of visitors from various regions. Ms. Le Thi Thanh Ca from Ca Mau remarked, "From my first visit to the Hung Kings' Temple, I was deeply impressed by the enormous and beautiful structure. There is an exhibition space here that helps me understand the era of Hung Kings, the culture of Can Tho, and the Southern region. I also hope that there will be more activities for visitors to experience."

The promotion of cultural and historical relics in tourism in Binh Thuy is contributing to meeting the diverse demands of the market. Mr. Tran Thanh Nghi, Director of Benthanh Tourist Can Tho, shares, "Cultural and spiritual tourism is always of great interest to many tourists. Can Tho has many destinations that can be developed into tours for this type of tourism, with Binh Thuy having many advantages. The destinations are very close to each other and are connected, such as the Hung Kings' Temple, Binh Thuy Ancient House, and Binh Thuy Temple. We have conducted surveys and provided suggestions to the local authorities to enhance their attractiveness through the development of experiential activities."

The District Party Committee and People's Committee of Binh Thuy district are closely monitoring and directing the local tourism sector to implement Plan No. 89/KH-UBND dated April 14, 2021, of the Can Tho City People's Committee on "Preservation and Promotion of Historical and Cultural Relics, Intangible Cultural Heritage, Traditional Craft Villages, and Scenic Spots Associated with the Development of Tourism in Can Tho City for the 2021-2025 Period." Within this plan, there are three key tasks: the preservation and promotion of the value of historical and cultural relics, the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritage related to tourism development, and the promotion of the value of traditional craft villages in tourism. In parallel, Binh Thuy is also implementing and specificizing this plan within the district, contributing to the implementation of the "Preservation and Promotion of the Value of Can Tho City's Intangible Cultural Heritage for the 2021-2025 Period, with a Vision Towards 2030" project. These are all prerequisites that create conditions for the development of cultural and spiritual tourism. Based on these foundations, the local authorities are gradually perfecting cultural and spiritual tourism routes, organizing multiple surveys, and connecting with tour operators to effectively exploit the cultural and historical relics associated with tourism.

Binh Thuy is a locality that receives special attention and investment in cultural and spiritual tourism within Can Tho City. Therefore, the local authorities are making efforts to invest and innovate in order to create tourism products that cater to the diverse tastes of tourists.
