Throughout the nights of the “Spring Song, Folk Song, Performances” Festival of Can Tho City for the 14th time in 2024, at Ninh Kieu Quay, hundreds of spectators attended each night's show. Nearly 300 performers from 9 districts, agencies, units, clubs, teams and art groups brought spring greeting acts that were appealing and meaningful. In particular, the competing programs of districts vividly reflected the development of their localities. Through the competing performance of Binh Thuy District, the image of a developing, integrated and vibrant Binh Thuy after 20 years of establishment was fully conveyed. Mr. Ho Van Chinh, a performer in the performance, said: "We practiced for a long time to make the program smooth and interesting. The more we rehearsed, the more we felt the changes of our homeland through the theatrical language".

Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Can Tho City, said that the festival is one of the opening events in the series of cultural and artistic activities celebrating the glorious Communist Party of Vietnam and welcoming the Spring of the Year of the Dragon 2024, which have been and are being enthusiastically organized from the city to grassroots levels. The festival is also an opportunity to properly evaluate the reality of the city's cultural and artistic movements and stimulate grassroots art activities. Other activities organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism include the performance program "Spring Colors of the Garden" at the Can Tho City Museum and the Spring Year of the Dragon 2024 Journalists' Festival at the Can Tho City Library.

Previously, on January 20-21, at the Historical Site of Ong Cuu Victory (Thuong Thanh Ward), Cai Rang District organized the "Spring Song, Folk Song, Performances" Festival with the participation of 7 wards in the district. Organized at the grassroots level, the festival attracted a large audience. Mr. Dang Thanh Tra, Deputy Head of the Culture and Information Division of Cai Rang District, emphasized that in addition to helping locals enjoy entertainment during the Lunar New Year Eve, the festival is also an opportunity for Cai Rang District's youth to showcase their talents, dynamism and integration, thereby contributing to the development of grassroots cultural activities.

In recent years, O Mon District has paid great attention to organizing recreational activities for people to enjoy entertainment during the transition from the old year to the new year. This year, there will be many exciting activities such as the "Good Voice - Refined Spring" Singing Contest, cultural activities closely related to the People - Army Lunar New Year of O Mon District, sports games including football, volleyball tournaments... Previously, the district successfully organized the Festival of Cultural Areas and Civilized Urban Wards. Mr. Ngo Minh Thi, Director of the O Mon District Culture, Sports and Radio Center, said that with the "Good Voice - Refined Spring" Singing Contest, in previous years it was called the "Good Voice - Graceful Spring" Contest, this year there are new points in the organization by expanding the contestant category to include male contestants, thereby gaining consensus and participation from the district's people.

In Co Do District, in addition to propaganda and mobilization activities to inspire people, the District Culture Department also organizes many interesting events. The Co Do District Party Celebration - Spring Art Festival will be held from the 26th to 28th day of the Lunar New Year, with districts/communes participating in genres such as songs, folk songs, stage performances. The New Year's Eve art program will be organized by the district at Co Do Park, with elaborately designed and invested performances. Notably, this New Year's Eve, Co Do District will have a fireworks display point at Co Do Park area, so everyone is bustling with excitement and anticipation. Ms. Nguyen Thi Nhu Y said: "Ever since I heard that Co Do District will have fireworks on New Year's Eve, my friends and I have been very excited and looking forward to it. Co Do District must be very fun celebrating Tet this year!".

According to the plan, there will be 5 fireworks display points across the city, including 1 high-altitude fireworks display point and 4 low-altitude fireworks display points. In addition to Co Do District, 3 other localities having fireworks display areas are Thot Not District (Hoang Gia Urban Area, Long Thanh 2, Thot Not Ward), Phong Dien District (Phan Van Tri Park, Nhon Luc 2 Commune, Phong Dien Town), Thoi Lai District (Thoi Lai District Square, Thoi Thuận B Hamlet, Thoi Lai Town). The high-altitude fireworks display point is in Hoa Su Restaurant, Area 1, Cai Ke Ward, Ninh Kieu District. The time for high-altitude fireworks is from 12:00 am to 12:15 am; the time for low-altitude fireworks is from 10:00 pm to 10:15 pm.

Other districts such as Ninh Kieu, Binh Thuy, Phong Dien, Vinh Thanh... have also been organizing cultural and artistic activities to welcome the Year of the Dragon Lunar New Year. These days, every district decorates streets with bright lights and colorful flags; flower markets and Lunar New Year markets have also bustled to serve the people. A joyful and warm Lunar New Year holiday is coming to Can Tho City.
