During the reception, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thuc Hien highlighted the recent efforts to strengthen cooperation between Can Tho City and the Indonesian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City. The two sides have successfully organized numerous cultural exchange activities, including the"Indonesia Day in Can Tho City" in 2022. According to Vice Chairman Nguyen Thuc Hien, these events play a significant role in promoting and enhancing the cooperative relationship between the two nations.

During the visit, Vice Chairman Nguyen Thuc Hien conveyed his hopes that the Indonesian partners would assist in promoting Can Tho's image and foster collaboration and investment with the city. He emphasized the areas of food processing, organic agricultural production, high-tech agriculture, tourism, and services as potential avenues for cooperation and investment.

Furthermore, he also hopes for the Indonesian Consulate General’s support in providing information on Indonesia's strengths, markets, business culture, and trade policies for Can Tho while periodically organizing Indonesian Cultural and Trade Exchange Festivals in Can Tho City.

Mr. Agustaviano Sofjan, Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City, thanked Can Tho authorities for their warm welcome and highly appreciated the potential and development of Can Tho City in all aspects. He stated that Indonesia and Vietnam have a long-standing relationship that has been strengthened over time. Particularly, 2023 marks the 68th Anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations and 10 years of their strategic partnership between Vietnam and Indonesia. Therefore, he hoped the two countries would continue to promote multifaceted cooperation in the coming time.

Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City Agustaviano Sofjan also thanked the Can Tho leaders for inviting the delegation of the Indonesia Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City to attend the exhibition and fair titled “Can Tho City - 20 Years of Achievements and Development”. The event is also an opportunity to exchange friendship and promote the image and development achievements of Can Tho city over the past 20 years to international friends, including Indonesia, he noted.

For his part, Consul General of Indonesia in Ho Chi Minh City Agustaviano Sofjan is committed to connecting Indonesian businesses and investors to Can Tho City for future cooperation and investment opportunities.
