At the conference, the delegates analyzed and forecasted the advantages and difficulties, then proposed solutions to achieve and surpass the economic and social targets and successfully implement the theme of 2024. The key tasks to be implemented include: deploying investment attraction activities from the early days of the year; promoting the promotion of 58 projects in the list of investment-attracting projects approved by the city; intensifying administrative procedure reform; accelerating the appraisal process of non-budget investment projects; promptly implementing the public investment plan and accelerating the progress and disbursement from the beginning of the year; continuing to restructure agriculture linked to value chains in advantageous agricultural and aquatic product sectors; analyzing and evaluating the implementation of transportation infrastructure projects in the area and proposing development solutions for infrastructure in 2024; connecting agricultural production with processing industries, preservation, and consumer markets; attracting more businesses to use labor in rural areas, focusing on solving rural employment; concentrating on well-organized mobilization and deployment of the 2024 military conscription to ensure the fulfillment of the set targets; enhancing the quality of coordination to grasp the situation, effectively combat and prevent various crimes and social evils, ensuring political security and social order and safety.

Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, concluded the conference.

In his concluding speech at the conference, Mr. Tran Viet Truong urged agencies, units, and localities to promptly start working after the Tet holiday, strictly implement discipline and administrative discipline in accordance with the directives of the Central Government, the City Party Committee, and the People's Committee of the city. Focusing on the immediate implementation of the tasks related to the theme of the year "Continuing to strengthen the construction of the Party and the clean and strong political system; focusing on accelerating the progress of key projects, promoting the city's socio-economic development," especially paying attention to supporting the acceleration of non-budget investment projects currently being implemented, closely and actively supporting investors to complete procedures for implementing investment under the signed investment memoranda.

Adhering to the motto "Unity, unanimity, joint efforts, with the highest political determination" to successfully fulfill the tasks of 2024, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city requested that the investors of public investment projects must submit plans to accelerate the construction progress to the Department of Planning and Investment, especially for ODA-funded projects, urging the construction units to mobilize additional vehicles, machinery, equipment, and labor, and to open additional construction sites to complete the projects according to the schedule, and put them into operation early to connect the city's infrastructure system and the Mekong Delta region.

Regarding key investment-attracting projects, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city requested that the assigned units must report the progress and results of project implementation weekly to the Department of Planning and Investment, the City People's Committee Office, to timely report to the Standing Committee of the City People's Committee, support and resolve difficulties and obstacles of the projects.

The year 2024 holds special significance in determining the successful implementation of the 5-year plan 2021 - 2025 and the objectives and tasks of the Resolution of the 14th City Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025. Therefore, the Chairman of the People's Committee of the city requested the members of the City People's Committee, heads of city agencies and departments, Central agencies operating in the city, and Chairpersons of district People's Committees to thoroughly grasp the above-mentioned guiding spirit, act resolutely, promptly, and effectively; promote the role and responsibility of the leaders, the strength of the collective, and the proactive coordination among agencies and units to successfully fulfill the assigned tasks.
