Speaking at the Ceremony, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong urged all members of the Youth Union to promote solidarity, dynamism, creativity, and volunteerism, and to participate in solving difficult and pressing issues that society faces. He also emphasized carrying out important tasks such as promoting traffic order and safety, participating in digital transformation, preserving environmental hygiene and urban civilization, constructing new rural areas, doing volunteer work, consulting and creating jobs for young people, as well as improving the quality of Union members. Additionally, the Chairman urged the Youth Union to consolidate and perfect the organization actively.

Furthermore, the official requested the Can Tho Youth Union to focus on organizing activities, emulation movements, and implementing youth projects and tasks practically and effectively. They should prioritize organizing volunteer programs and activities that are associated with the needs of social life. They should also pioneer digital transformation applications to serve the lives of the youth and people, contributing to emulation and establishing achievements to successfully welcome Congresses of the Vietnam Youth Union at all levels. This will help them move towards the Congress Vietnam Youth Union of Can Tho City for the term 2024 - 2029.

Besides, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Tran Viet Truong proposed that authorities at all levels further strengthen state management of youth. They should continue to include the Youth Development Strategy in their plans and work programs for implementation. In the immediate future, they should direct and create favorable conditions for the Steering Committee of the Youth Development Program from the city to the grassroots to successfully deploy Youth Month 2024.

Chairman Tran Viet Truong has urged the youth of the city to take an active and volunteer role in creating a cultured lifestyle, maintaining urban order and discipline, and building new rural and urban areas. This will contribute to the development of a civilized, modern, bright, green, clean, and beautiful city of Can Tho. He believes that the blue uniform of the youth union members will continue to be present on the economic, political, cultural, and social fronts through the implementation of the Union's action programs and practical movements in the locality.

At the Launching Ceremony, Can Tho Municipal Young Entrepreneurs Association awarded 2 billion VND to support innovation and social security startup activities. The Hope Foundation also funded 3 Hope Bridges worth 435 million VND.

In addition, the Can Tho City Youth Union and Vietnam Youth Union of the city collaborated with companion units to donate a bridge worth 135 million VND and 30 bicycles to students in difficult circumstances. They also provided 40 gifts, each worth 1 million VND, to members of the union, young people, and people in difficult circumstances. The total cost of the bicycles, bridge, and gifts was 50 million VND.

After the Kick-off Ceremony, Can Tho youth promptly initiated various activities to commemorate Youth Month 2024. These activities included planting trees, cleaning streets, giving gifts to young people volunteering to perform military service in 2024 in Can Tho City, and organizing training sessions to transfer science and technology to people.
