Spring publications show the face of the country and Can Tho city during the traditional Tet holiday. Moreover, they vividly reflect the situation of the country and the world in the past year, especially Vietnam's achievements in socio-economic development. Furthermore, these publications also direct public opinion, call on the entire Party, people, and army to unite to overcome difficulties and challenges, and have absolute confidence in the Party's leadership in the cause of national construction, protection, and development.

This year's Spring Press Festival will be open until March 4, 2024. At the same time, libraries of districts and communes, wards, and towns will exhibit Spring publications, together with cultural, artistic, and sports activities.

Together with the Spring Press Festival, Giap Thin Spring Publication Contest 2024 has received entries from districts, departments, agencies, and organizations in the city. The contest aims to enhance efficiency and encourage non-professional media outlets to share information in the local community. This will help establish a shared understanding and commitment between the government and citizens in their efforts to develop and build Can Tho City during this new era.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, the highlight of this year's Spring Publication Contest is the summary and assessment of the activities of the localities. With the united efforts of the whole political system and people of all classes, the city has successfully implemented its goals and tasks in 2023 and celebrated the 20th anniversary of Can Tho becoming central-level city (January 1, 2004 - January 1, 2024).

The closing ceremony of the Spring Press Festival and the awarding ceremony of the Giap Thin Spring Publication Contest 2024 will take place on March 29, 2024.

According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan, Director of Can Tho Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, this Spring Press Festival is an annual event, demonstrating the beauty of Vietnamese reading culture during the Tet holiday. The festival is well received by the people as it is not only a festival of journalists but also a festival for readers, contributing to honoring and promoting the reading culture, enriching the spiritual life values of the people every Tet and spring. Through the Spring Press Festival, the guidelines, policies, and achievements of the Vietnamese Party and Government are fully and comprehensively summarized and evaluated. This is also one of many Can Tho city’s activities to honor and encourage the reading culture - an important foundation contributing to the building of Can Tho people “Intellectual - Dynamic - Compassionate - Chivalrous - Elegant”.
