In his speech reviewing the 75-year tradition of the People’s Public Security's education, implementation of Uncle Ho's Six Teachings, and the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation, Major General Nguyen Van Thuan, Director of the Can Tho City’s Public Security, stated: "In accordance with Uncle Ho's teachings, the public security of Can Tho City has continuously promoted its united strength and strived to achieve remarkable achievements, contributing to the construction and development of the city. The Party committee, Party organizations, officers, and soldiers of the People's Public Security have a deep understanding of the situation, causes, and recognition of signs of ideological, political, moral, and lifestyle deterioration, as well as internal "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" manifestations. From that, they self-reflect and rectify their shortcomings. The role model and exemplary role of Party members, especially those in leadership positions at the Party committee, agencies, and units, are highly emphasized. Officers and soldiers all have a consciousness of self-improvement and cultivation according to the ideology, morality, and style of Ho Chi Minh. The work of commendation and rewards has been enhanced, regularly promoting and disseminating good models, creative initiatives, and exemplary individuals and actions, focusing on eliminating the bad with the good and pushing back the negative with the positive. Disciplinary measures and regulations have been tightened, promptly detecting and strictly dealing with misconduct by officers and soldiers. Weaknesses in the work have been overcome, and the trust of the people in the city's Public security has been consolidated".

The annual results of the struggle against criminal activities consistently exceeded the targets set by the Ministry of Public Security, with a success rate of 90% or higher. To effectively carry out crime prevention work, the City’s Public Security has innovated in forms, content, and methods of mobilizing the masses, strengthened propaganda efforts, and implemented administrative reforms. It has also effectively implemented Government Project 06 on the development of population data application, electronic identification, and authentication to serve national digital transformation; effectively implementing personnel work, constructing a streamlined, efficient, and effective organizational structure, being a role model in innovation, and arranging the personnel team according to standards and criteria at the four levels of the Public Security system. Ensuring that regular police officers hold positions in commune-level police stations, meeting the requirements of "Effective at the central level, strong at the provincial level, comprehensive at the district level, and grassroots-oriented at the commune level". It has resolutely implemented key breakthrough solutions in building communal and town police forces to meet the requirements and tasks. The exemplary model of a "typical police, a model for maintaining public order and urban civility" has been established, contributing effectively to resolving security and public order situations at the grassroots level with the principle of "Police reaching out to the people", “being close to and understanding the people”, and “being there for the people when they need the Police, especially in challenging times”.

In addition to carrying out various tasks, the City Public Security proactively organizes numerous social welfare activities, fully implements the policies and benefits for revolutionary cadres, and takes care of families who have made contributions to the revolution and engaged in activities of gratitude and reciprocity, visiting and offering gifts to poor households, supporting diligent and studious underprivileged children, constructing houses for charitable purposes, building roads, and constructing rural bridges…

Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the City People's Council in Can Tho, presented Certificates of Commendation to various organizations.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of the city, praised the achievements and contributions made by the city's Public Security force over the past 75 years. He also emphasized the need for the city's Public Security to consistently and deeply embrace the Party's and the State's guiding principles and ideologies regarding ensuring security and order and building the Party and the people's Public Security force. He stressed the importance of closely aligning with the Party's political tasks to serve the country's development and safeguard the peaceful lives of the people.

Furthermore, it is essential to focus on building the Party and establishing a truly clean, strong, disciplined, capable, and modernized force that can meet the demands of the new situation, following the spirit of Resolution No. 12-NQ/TW of the Politburo and Resolution No. 13-NQ/TU of the City Party Committee. This includes enhancing comprehensive capabilities and streamlining the organizational structure to efficiently and effectively fulfill outstanding tasks. There is a firm determination to implement and abide by the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho to the People's Public Security through practical movements, action programs, and strengthening the promotion of "Studying and Following the Thoughts, Morals, and Style of Ho Chi Minh" as well as integrating them into competitive movements for implementation. At the same time, the evaluation and classification of officials and Party members each year will be based on the results of their practical implementation.

In addition to that, it is important to elevate the spirit and responsibility of the Party Committee and its leaders in comprehensively addressing various aspects: ideology, politics, ethics, lifestyle, and work style; self-criticism and criticism; relationship with the people; responsibilities in work; organizational discipline and internal unity awareness. Strengthening inspection, supervision, and education of officials and soldiers, striving to cultivate and train their qualities, ethics, and work style, and improving the effectiveness of work and combat.

On this occasion, 7 distinguished collectives are honored to receive the Commendation from the Chairman of the City People's Committee for their outstanding achievements in the special competitive movement commemorating the 75th anniversary of People's Public Security’s education and implementation of the Six Teachings of Uncle Ho, and the 75th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's call for patriotic emulation. 75 exemplary individuals are also recognized and commended.
