The “National Flag Road” in Can Tho is about 8 km long with 500 flagpoles passing through Ninh Kieu district and Phong Dien district. The project has a total cost of over VND 1 billion, in which Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper sponsored 10,000 flags worth VND 500 million, while the rest was balanced by the local budget. This is also the second longest flag road among “National Flag Road” constructions. Previously, Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper inaugurated a “National Flag Road” that was 10 km long at Dong Loc T-junction (Ha Tinh province)."

On this occasion, the Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper also awarded 200 scholarships (each worth 1 million VND) from the program “Scholarships for supporting ethnic minority students, poor students” to students facing difficulties in the city of Can Tho. In addition, the social charity program of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper also sent 100 gifts (each worth 500,000 VND) to poor households facing difficulties in Phong Dien district.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nghia - Chairman of the People's Committee of Phong Dien district - affirmed that the 'National Flag Road' located on the route named after the former General Secretary Nguyen Van Cu will contribute to encouraging propaganda activities and socio-political activities in the district as well as the city. The local authorities will raise awareness of self-consciousness and responsibility in the management and utilization of the project's value."

Meanwhile, Ms. Le Thi Suong Mai - Chairman of the Can Tho City Labor Federation - stated that in the near future, the organization will continue to collaborate with Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper to implement the construction of the 'National Flag Road' in the districts and counties of the city, contributing to enhancing patriotism and promoting the spirit of national unity.
