Delegates cut the ribbon to inaugurate the first parking center in Can Tho City

The parking center, located at the intersection of Phan Dinh Phung and Ngo Van So streets in Tan An Ward, Ninh Kieu District, was started on June 1, 2020, with a total investment of 158 billion VND. The parking building covers nearly 4,300 square meters of land and has a total construction area of 21,000 square meters.

The project includes a 2-storey auto service building and a 9-storey business and commercial building. The parking facility can accommodate up to 1,000 cars and motorbikes with smart technology. In addition, vehicles with fewer than 17 seats can use this largest vehicle parking facility in Can Tho. The parking center has two large-capacity elevators to lift cars to park on floors while motorcycles have separate ways to the floors in a spiral direction. The parking space is equipped with an automatic foam fire extinguishing system.

The center receives vehicles using a module system and two elevators combined with smart recognition software.

Le Van Thong, Director of the Can Tho Investment and Development Fund - the investor of the project, said the parking center applies smart technology, camera surveillance, and specialized software which can identify and provide detailed information about parking locations, time, and number plates, among others. This new facility is expected to contribute to the development of tourism in Can Tho City

According to Thong, the inauguration ceremony of the Center is also one of the events to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Can Tho becoming a centrally-run city.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee Duong Tan Hien highly appreciated the efforts of relevant agencies and departments in completing this important project.

Permanent Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien suggested investors and customers operate and exploit the Center in accordance with the laws; ensure fire prevention, security, and environmental protection; and open training courses to improve the qualifications of the Center's workforce.

During its trial operation period, which runs from September 20 to November 30, the parking building will offer free parking services for customers from 5:00 to 22:00 from 5:00 to 22:00 every day.

After that, parking fees will be charged from 20,000 VND (0.82 USD) to 25,000 VND (1 USD) for each hour and up to 1.5 million VND a month for a car while motorbike parking fees will be charged from 3,000-6,000 per vehicle.
