Can Tho Municipal leaders paid a visit and extended their best wishes to Can Tho Diocese, representative of Vietnamese Protestants (Southern) in Can Tho City, City’s Catholic Solidarity Committee.

At every visiting place, the delegation sent best wishes and a peaceful, joyful, and happy Christmas season to the Bishops, Priests, Pastors, Catholics, and Protestants in the city. Also, Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Van Hieu informed them about the outstanding achievements of Can Tho City over the past 20 years as a centrally run city, the socio-economic situation of Can Tho City in 2023, and the city's development orientations in the coming time.

The official said that Can Tho City has organized many interesting events and programs to celebrate Can Tho City's 20th anniversary under the Central Government. Moreover, a master plan for the development of Can Tho City for the 2021-2030 period with a vision to 2050 has just been officially approved by the Prime Minister. After that, the city successfully organized a Conference to announce the Planning and investment promotion of Can Tho. This will motivate the city to develop in all aspects, especially in the economy, society, healthcare, education, infrastructure, and urban development in the coming time.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Van Hieu also said that recently, Can Tho City held a ceremony to honor 100 outstanding role models, including several religious followers, who have made many contributions in the process of building and developing the city in the period 2004 - 2024. These are good examples to contribute to making Can Tho City's emulation movement more effective and substantive, achieving good results in the coming time.

Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Van Hieu recognized the important contributions of dignitaries, Catholics, and Protestants in the city. In cooperation with all other people of the nation, the Bishops, Priests, and Pastors have led Catholics and Protestants to well implement the guidelines of the Party, policies, and laws of the State, actively work, study, and develop the economy, effectively participate in campaigns, patriotic emulation movements, social and volunteer activities, contributing to the development of the city.

Can Tho municipal leaders hope that in 2024, the dignitaries, Catholics, and Protestants will continue promoting patriotic traditions, religious resources, and the strength of the nation to develop Can Tho into a civilized and modern city.
