The event aims to affirm the achievements accomplished in 20 years of Can Tho with the role of a municipal city, praising the growth and maturity of the city's forces, departments, and branches at all levels over the past 20 years. At the same time, the event also has practical meaning in promoting the connection between scientific research, production and business, the connection between units - localities, businesses - consumers, and the opportunity to socialize, exchange experiences, transfer technology and expand business cooperation.

This Fair and Exhibition attracted 350 booths, including the Exhibition "Can Tho City - 20 years of achievements and development", with a scale of 100 booths by city departments, agencies, and armed forces, People's Committees of districts in the city; along with honorary booths of Embassies and Consulates General of countries such as the Philippines, Indonesia, Korea, and China.

In addition, within the framework of the event, the Vietnam International Agricultural Fair 2023 attracted 250 booths of Vietnamese and international businesses in the field of agriculture and trade to participate in introducing various industries, such as high-tech agricultural machinery and equipment, production and processing lines and products used in industry and agriculture; agricultural supplies, fertilizers, plant protection products; supporting technology for high-tech agriculture, post-harvest preservation techniques; forestry products, handicrafts, processed products from agricultural, forestry and aquatic materials; introducing OCOP products; quality plant varieties and fruit products; commercial products and consumer goods from farmers and rural areas; regional cuisine and specialties.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Tran Viet Truong - Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - believed that the Fair and Exhibition "Can Tho City - 20 years of achievements and development" would be an exhibition of outstanding achievements of the city over the past time; an opportunity to call for and promote all resources, potentials and advantages to gradually build and develop Can Tho city’s central role in the Mekong Delta region. At the same time, the event would also be an effective connection and an important trade promotion channel to create conditions for localities, economic organizations, and businesses to seek business cooperation opportunities, expand consuming and exporting markets for agricultural products, exchange and sign many high-value commercial contracts; create opportunities for promoting and enhancing the brand value of Vietnamese agricultural products.

The Fair and Exhibition "Can Tho City - 20 years of achievements and development" takes place until November 6.
