In specific terms, this year's Book Propagation and Introduction Competition was initiated from April 24th to August 18th, spanning two rounds of assessment: the preliminary round involving the composition of book introduction essays, and the main round of collective assessment involving the oral propagation and introduction of books directly on stage through the forms of theatrical presentation. Members of the youth union from the four competitive clusters directly under the Can Tho Youth Union were selected to form a joint competitive team, engaging in two sections of the competition: self-introduction and the propagation and introduction of books, executed through various forms of theatrical presentation such as drama, skits, poetry, song, chanting, recitation, and presentation.

Mr. Nguyen Thanh Thien, Deputy Secretary of the Phong Dien district youth union, shared that the district is part of Competitive Cluster No. 1, collaborating with four other units: Ninh Kieu district youth union, Can Tho City Public Security youth union, Vinh Thanh district youth union, and Nam Can Tho University Youth Union. The cluster has chosen to introduce a book centered around the qualities of the people's public security officers in the contemporary era. Diligently preparing for the book introduction segment, members convened to discuss and allocate tasks, each individual taking distinct tasks ranging from scriptwriting to planning, all the way from late April to the present. Prior to the start of the competition, participating units exhibited a keen response, undertaking rigorous training, and today they participate with spirited enthusiasm. This competition serves to provide the youth with a deeper comprehension of reading culture through diverse forms such as chanting, recitation, and dance and song performances.

The majority of the units have grasped the method of writing propaganda articles introducing books quite well, exhibiting commendable essays on subjects such as the role and responsibilities of public security officers in the new era; Introducing exemplary models of Vietnam's youth vanguard force; Youth in safeguarding Vietnam's sovereignty over its seas and islands; Youths' aspirations for dedication... Some units have invested significantly in their articles, displaying coherent style, rich emotions, and a connection to the practical aspects of their work. Particularly, certain articles have offered openings and positive messages, guiding the youth towards the virtuous values of life, drawing lessons and experiences from the book they intend to introduce, and relating them to local realities and their respective responsibilities.

Mr. Tran Huu Nghia, a student from Can Tho University, a contestant in Competitive Cluster No. 3 - introducing the book "Exemplary Models of Vietnam's Youth Vanguard Force," has invested earnestly in attire, props, and a well-structured presentation style. Cluster 3 aims to spread the passion for reading among people and the passion for learning history. "This book speaks about the history of the youth vanguard force, and each story will foster a sense of national pride and encourage us to strive for dedication for the benefit of our country in the future. Through this Competition, I want to convey to everyone a passion for reading as well as an understanding of history. The reading culture among today's youth is declining, but I believe that with competitions like this, the passion for reading will certainly be ignited, and our reading culture will continue to flourish," expressed Mr. Tran Huu Nghia.

According to Mr. Truong Cong Quoc Viet, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism of Can Tho City, in the recent period, Can Tho City has implemented various measures to spread and promote the development of reading culture among the youth. In parallel with the Book Propagation and Introduction Competition, the city has also launched the "Cultural Ambassador of Reading" competition within schools. In many seasons, Can Tho students have consistently achieved high awards at the national finals of this competition. Furthermore, the Book Propagation and Introduction Competition is part of a series of activities celebrating the 78th anniversary of the Successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam on September 2nd. Through this competition, a healthy and beneficial playground is established, encouraging the development of the reading culture among youth union members and young people. It aims to continue fostering the habit of reading, promoting the reading movement, and developing the reading culture. The Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism has also provided guidance for the City Library to organize practical, meaningful, and beneficial activities to meet the set requirements and goals.

In the current era of information explosion, where social media holds a significant presence, the younger generation tends to read books less and spend more time online. Nevertheless, Can Tho City has maintained and developed the reading culture through the organization of book propagation and introduction competitions. This effort contributes to creating a space and a beautiful environment that nurtures the spirit, awakens the thirst for knowledge, and cultivates gratitude within the intellectual foundation of the young generation. Additionally, it plays a role in enhancing the aspirations for dedication and the construction of a prosperous and strong nation within the context of modernity.
