The leaders of Can Tho City visited and sent their congratulations on the Buddha's Birthday Grand ceremony in 2023

On the morning of May 31st, the delegation of leaders from the Municipal Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front of Can Tho City, led by Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chairman of the Can Tho City People's Council, visited and sent their congratulations on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday Grand Ceremony of the Buddhist calendar 2567 and the "An Cu Kiet Ha" season in 2023 at the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City and some pagodas in Ninh Kieu District.
The city leadership delegation visited and sent their congratulations to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the city and Khanh Quang Pagoda.

During the visits, Mr. Pham Van Hieu, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Chairman of the City People's Council, expressed his joy and sent kind regards and congratulations to the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the city, esteemed Venerables, senior monks, nuns, and all Buddhist followers. He wished them good health, peace, and great achievements in their Buddhist endeavors on the occasion of the Buddha's Birthday Grand Ceremony of the Buddhist calendar 2567 and the "An Cu Kiet Ha" season in 2023.

At the same time, Mr. Pham Van Hieu provided information on the economic and social situation of the city in the early months of 2023. The city's leadership emphasized that despite the overall difficulties, with the spirit of unity and determination to overcome challenges, the Municipal Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front at all levels, sectors, and social classes have made efforts to successfully fulfill their tasks. The activities of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in the city have contributed significantly by integrating the values of Buddhist teachings into social life, preserving and promoting the traditional customs, ethics, and culture of the Vietnamese people. The Buddhist monks and followers in the city have made important and positive contributions to economic development, maintaining political security, ensuring social order and safety, participating in building new rural areas, and civilized urban areas, and particularly organizing numerous charitable activities. With these mentioned efforts, Mr. Pham Van Hieu hopes that under the leadership of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City, together with Buddhist followers, they will lead a virtuous life while fulfilling their responsibilities as citizens, actively participating in patriotic movements, and effectively implementing campaigns to contribute to the unity and preservation of the city. They should also strive to uphold the industrious and creative spirit, the traditional ethical values of Buddhism, and make even greater contributions to the development of the city. This will help in the construction of Can Tho City as a civilized and modern city, and serve as a driving force for the overall development of the Mekong Delta region.

Venerable Thich Binh Tam, Standing Member of the Executive Council, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City, expressed joy at the city's comprehensive development in terms of security, order, and socio-economic achievements. Venerable Thich Binh Tam stated that the Buddhist activities in Can Tho City have made significant contributions to social welfare. The Buddhist community in Can Tho City continues to uphold the fine traditions of Vietnamese Buddhism, faithfully implementing the Party's guidelines, state laws, and policies, as well as the Charter of the Buddhist Sangha. Currently, there are over 160 pagodas in the city, which have received support and assistance from various levels of government ensuring stability for these religious establishments. In the future, the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City, along with Venerables, senior monks, nuns, monks, lay practitioners, and Buddhist followers in the city, will continue to join hands with the government and the people of Can Tho City to foster national unity and build a prosperous and civilized Can Tho City.

The city leadership delegation visited Ngoc Minh Monastery and Venerable Thich Giac Nhuong, Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, and representatives of the Executive Board of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Can Tho City, as well as the Abbot of Ngoc Minh Monastery.

The city leadership delegation also visited Quan Am Pagoda and Abbess Thich Nu Dieu Ngo, Advisor of the Central Executive Committee for Nun Affairs, representatives of the Nun Affairs Department in the city, and the Abbot of Quan Am Pagoda.
