The singing contest for “Tomodachi - Tinh ban”, a Vietnam-Japan friendship song will take place on October 1 in Can Tho City

A singing contest will take place at 9 a.m. on October 1 at Van Phat Riverside Restaurant for a Vietnam - Japan friendship song, “Tomodachi - Tinh ban” (Tomodachi - Friendship), to help promote young people’s awareness of the two countries’ connections. The singing contest will be held across Vietnam by the special committee under the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Ho Chi Minh City (JCCH) in coordination with some agencies and units of the two countries. It is part of the series of activities commemorating the 50th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan (September 21, 1973 - 2023).

The contest will be held across Vietnam from September to December 2023. The contest is open to Vietnamese people aged 6 - 22 who will sing “Tomodachi - Tinh ban” in Vietnamese and Japanese languages. Registration for the contest is open online or in person at designated locations in Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Da Nang, and Can Tho. Contestants can send a clip performing the song “Tomodachi – Tinh ban” to the email of the Organizing Committee's Representative Office: info.tomodachi@gmail.com; or post a clip performing the song on social media (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok...) with the hashtag #Tomodachi and send the link to the Organizing Committee's email. The best five performers will be invited to come to Japan to join an exchange and sing in chorus with local youngsters.

The award ceremony of the singing contest is scheduled for December this year.
