On the morning of September 6th, in Can Tho City, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in coordination with the People's Committees of various provinces and cities, organized a conference to promote trade and import-export activities in the Mekong Delta region.

During the national holiday (September 2nd), Can Tho City welcomed 189,000 visitors, generating approximately VND 221 billion in tourism revenue. This marked an 11% increase compared to the same period in 2023.

Creating distinctive tourism products to attract tourists is a recurring topic at conferences and seminars, particularly in Can Tho and the Mekong Delta. Many experts have noted that indigenous culture is crucial in establishing a unique identity for tourism products in each location. In Can Tho, numerous organizations have taken the initiative to develop diverse products based on indigenous culture.

In recent years, trade promotion has significantly contributed to boosting the consumption of goods, especially products from the One Commune One Product (OCOP) Program and local specialties. Significant and sustainable supply chains have been gradually established with state support regarding market connections and regional linkages. As a result, agricultural products and OCOP items from each locality have experienced reduced seasonal instability and have gained opportunities to expand into domestic and foreign markets.

This year’s September 2nd holiday (from 31-8 to 3-9) is perfect for people to relax and have fun. In Can Tho, numerous destinations meet the diverse needs of tourists.

The Can Tho Municipal People's Committee held its regular meeting on August 30 to discuss and evaluate the socio-economic situation in August and the first eight months of 2024.

The conference, themed “Linking trade development to connect supply and demand between five centrally-run cities with the provinces of the Mekong Delta,” of the industry and trade sector of the five centrally-run cities in 2024 took place on August 30 in Can Tho City.

Cai Rang Floating Market Culture was officially recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism in 2016. This market is widely popular and a must-visit destination on the international tourism map. Efforts to preserve and promote this heritage in tourism are ongoing.

On August 27th, the 2024 Asia Bridge Competition, hosted by Can Tho University, took place in Can Tho city. This is also the first time the 2024 Asia Bridge Competition has been held in Vietnam.

On the morning of August 22nd, Can Tho City People's Committee held a conference to summarize the organization and operation of Can Tho City Public Administration Service Center. Mr. Tran Viet Truong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho City, attended and chaired the conference.
