The Department of Information and Communications of Can Tho city is under the instructions of  the People’s Committee to directly advise and organize this Festival. The second Book Festival in Can Tho city in 2017 will be organized within 7 days, from the 25th to 31st of March at Luu Huu Phuoc Park, Can Tho city.

According to the information of the Organizing Board, the second Book Festival in Can Tho city in 2017 will have many practical activities going forward to the community and contributing the so call “reading culture”. The booths in the Festival, which are well- ventilated, spacious, stylish and unique, will be divided by contents and sections. In addition, the Festival will be organized in the city centre with cool, open space so it will be convenient for readers visiting as well as choosing and buying books.

Centre stage is designed subtly based the theme of the Book Festival

The Book Festival will gather over 250 booths with more than 100 units related to publishing, printing and distributing books as well as many companies in the field of culture, communication in and out of the country. This will be a good opportunity for Publishing Houses, Book Distribution Companies exchanging books and sharing experiences. It will also offer a chance to readers in the Mekong Delta especially in Can Tho city collecting books in the country and in over the world with the best prices.

The perspective of the secondary gate of the Book Festival

One of the new features of the second Book Festival is the professionalism in organization. Beside some big programs holding at the central stage, most of the remaining activities will be organized in the booth of each unit such as seminars; exchanging information among researchers, scientists, writers, poets and authors and between authors and readers; offering books with authors’ signatures; story telling contest; picture drawing contest; offering gifts and so on.

Some indispensable features for young people at the Festival will be sections for  photograph taking, children’s playing, book coffee drinking, e- book displaying. The Festival will also arrange 2 IT booths providing information to help visitors looking up all information about Can Tho Tourism including restaurants, hotels, places for visiting and shopping.

The Organizing Board will not only request the participants to invest their booths carefully but will also pay attention to many other things as fire protection system, security, hygiene, stage, parking, audio visual system, surveillance cameras and so on to offer the readers as well as visitors the strongest feelings of excitement at the second Book Festival in Can Tho city in 2017.
