Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Bridge

Ninh Kieu Pedestrian Bridge is the first footbridge in the Mekong delta region. It is modernly built with semi-permanent reinforced concrete at a cost of 49.6 billion VND.

Inaugurated and put into operation from 6/2/2016, Ninh Kieu pedestrian bridge has attracted many residents and tourists. The bridge, 199m in length and 7.2m in width, is shaped in an S-curve. There are two lotus statues build in two extension parts of the bridge and the roofed sitting area is equipped with LED lighting systems using solar energy. The pedestrian bridge was built to connect Ninh Kieu wharf and Cai Khe river islet tourist area to form a chain of prominent tourist attractions which can attract many visitors.

This construction work is the landscape’s highlight in the city’s center and a new tourism product to serve the needs of walking for local people as well as attracting domestic and foreign tourists, contributing to the development of Can Tho city in the future.
