According to the Vietnam Association of Architects, this year’s awards received entries from 239 projects and works. The Award Council carefully selected and decided to honor outstanding projects and works. Specifically, the National Architecture Award 2024-2025 presented 1 Grand Prize, 5 Gold Awards, 12 Silver Awards, 35 Bronze Awards, and 1 Award for the work most loved and voted for by the community. Additionally, Certificates of Merit were given to organizations with significant achievements in the awards, and an Award for “Contribution to the Development of Architecture” was also presented.

The Grand Prize was awarded to the Vietnam Military History Museum, designed by a team of architects: Hiroshi Miyakawa, Trinh Viet A, Michio Oizumi, Nguyen Dinh Dong, and Gen Sugiyama from Nikken Sekkei LTD. Notably, among the 5 Gold Awards, one was given to the Reconstruction of Nu and Nam Tong Villages (Lao Cai) by architects Hoang Thuc Hao, Nguyen Xuan Ngoc, Vu Xuan Son, and associates from 1+1>2 International Architecture and Construction JSC.

Can Tho City had two projects that received Bronze Awards in the National Architecture Award 2024-2025. The first is the Hung Kings Temple in Can Tho City, in the public architecture category, designed by architects Nguyen Thanh Tai, Nguyen Duc Thinh, Vu Dinh Dung, and Ly Let from the Planning and Construction Institute, Can Tho City Department of Construction. The second is “Can Tho House” by architect Nguyen Nho from AD9 Architects Office, in the residential architecture category.

The Hung Kings Temple in Can Tho City began construction in June 2019 and was inaugurated on April 6, 2022. The temple was built on an area of over 39,000 m², including components such as the main temple, main gate, ceremonial gate, and stele house. The main temple stands out with its stylized bronze drum design. Surrounding the main temple are 18 curved wings, symbolizing the 18 Hung Kings. Each wing is decorated with motifs inspired by the patterns found on Dong Son bronze drums.

The National Architecture Award is held every two years, organized by the Vietnam Association of Architects, the Ministry of Construction, and the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism. It is one of the official state awards in the field of architecture and serves as a basis for the state to consider granting the Ho Chi Minh Prize and the State Prize in the field of Literature and Arts.
