A magnificient Temple
The construction of Hung Kings Temple in Can Tho city was commenced on June 18th, 2019 sponsored by Van Phu Invest Investment Joint Stock Company (Trung Liet Ward, Dong Da District, Hanoi; www.vanphu.vn).
According to Dr. To Nhu Toan, Architect and Chairman of Van Phu Investment Joint Stock Company (Van Phu Invest in short), Hung Kings Temple covers a total land area of nearly 40,000 square meters in Binh Thuy Ward (Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City) with the total investment of more than 129 billion VND. The main items of the project such as Main Temple, Operator, Nghi Mon, Brewhouse, Yard, Trees, lawns, etc. The temple shows the nation's gratitude to our Hung Kings - our founding fathers. Therefore, the members of Van Phu Invest have been dedicated day and night to build this socialized project. The temple was built on the basis of cultural and architectural research rich in national identity and history. When put into operation, the project will become an important cultural and spiritual tourist destination of Can Tho city and other provinces.
Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Can Tho city said that Hung Kings Temple is a remarkable cultural construction of Can Tho city. The Temple is a place for the locals and tourists to contemplate Vietnam’s cultural architecture, commemorate and offer incense to the legendary ancestors of Vietnam. This monumental work contributes to educating generations of Vietnamese people, especially the younger ones towards the origins as well as showing our gratitude to the Hung Kings - our founding fathers who have made great contributions to nation-building, fighting against foreign invaders, overcoming natural disasters to preserve and develop the country. Hung Kings Temple is located close to Vo Van Kiet street, just over 2km from Can Tho International Airport. Hung Kings Temple is a place to organize cultural-spiritual activities as well as a tourist destination for the locals and people from near and far. Furthermore, this remarkable temple is also a highlight for the city's tourism, especially for international tourists when they come to the city of Can Tho, the center of the Mekong Delta.
Reception rules and regulations
On September 8th, Mr. Nguyen Hoang On, Director of the Tourism Development Center of Can Tho city said that the People's Committee of Can Tho city has issued a set of rules and regulations on welcoming and receiving visitors at Hung Kings Temple.
Accordingly, the reception of visitors at Hung Kings Temple must be solemn, safe, economical, unobtrusive, and in compliance with current laws; strictly ensure the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic and other infectious diseases. Visitors must park their vehicles at the parking lot. They are free to enter the temple without charge with guidance from the security guard. The altar and the display area of artifacts at Hung Kings Temple are open from Tuesday to Sunday every week during office hours. They are closed on Monday for cleaning and maintenance. In the case of registration of incense offering outside the schedule, the agency assigned to directly manage Hung Kings Temple must consult the competent authority for decision. Any groups of visitors who need on-site guides or wish to take part in incense offering ceremony, political-cultural activities should contact the managers of Hung Kings Temple to register at least 1 day in advance. Visitors who enter Hung Kings Temple must dress modestly, politely, suitable for a dignified place of worship. Visitors can prepare the offerings for Hung Kings by themselves or asked the staff at Hung Kings Temple for support. The number of gifts and items varies depending on guests. Offerings include lamps, incense, flowers, fruits, cakes, tea, and water. Officials on duty at the Hung Kings Temple will help visitors arrange the gifts and offerings on the altar and ceremony table. For delegations of leaders from the Central Committee, leaders of provinces/cities directly under the Central Government, the agency assigned to directly manage Hung Kings Temple will prepare offerings, the rituals, and the reception schedule according to the plan approved by the People's Committee of Can Tho city.
