At the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Bac Toan, Deputy Commercial Director of Vietjet Air, said that in addition to Can Tho - Hanoi route and Can Tho - Da Nang route, from April 15th 2019, Vietjet Air will open Can Tho - Hai Phong route with a round trip per day, Can Tho - Vinh (Nghe An) route with 3 round trips per week and Can Tho - Thanh Hoa route with 4 round trips per week. Furthermore, the company is expected to open Can Tho - Da Lat (Lam Dong) route as well as Can Tho - Nha Trang route in early May. During the summer, it is also expected to launch charter flights to international destination as Thailand, South Korea and so on. In order to attract more passengers, Vietjet Air needs the aid from Can Tho City authorities in propaganda and promotion activities. At the same time, there are programs supporting tourism development to draw tourists’ attention and create the most favorable conditions in visa policies for foreign visitors, etc.

Highly appreciating the opening of Vietjet Air’s new airline routes in Can Tho, Mr. Truong Quang Hoai Nam asked the Department of Information and Communications, Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Investment - Trade - Promotion Center to actively coordinate with the airlines, travel companies, hotels, organizations to promote tourism and new airline routes, etc. Moreover, Mr. Nam also requested the Department of Transportation considers opening a bus route connecting Can Tho International Airport to Tourist destinations of the city and coordinate with other departments to build routes connecting other provinces in the Mekong Delta region to Can Tho International Airport.
