Over the past six months, the city’s tourism sector has organized various promotional and marketing activities in Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, and Hue, among others. It also launched a tourism stimulus program for 2025 under the slogan "Vietnam – Go to Love," aimed at the Can Tho Tourism Association, travel businesses, and tourism service providers. Stimulus campaigns were developed for festival seasons and the summer of 2025.
Additionally, the city conducted surveys and developed a range of tourism products focusing on culture, waterways, and agriculture, aiming to build signature tourism routes and destinations. A delegation was also sent to Lam Dong province to study and exchange experiences in tourism development, particularly in building agricultural tourism models.
In recent months, Can Tho has hosted various events and activities to attract visitors, including the Southern Folk Cake Festival, and training courses to improve the quality of local tourism human resources.
From now until the end of the year, the city's tourism development strategy will focus on continuing tourism stimulus programs, conducting surveys, and developing local tourism products. Promotional campaigns targeting international markets will be expanded. Plans are in place to organize a study tour to Thailand to learn about floating market management models for tourism development. Can Tho will also promote its tourism at the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
In addition, collaboration with the Department of Education and Training will support the organization of a tourism-themed contest for students in 2025. The city will also coordinate the implementation of community tourism, agricultural tourism, and river tourism training courses. Efforts will be made to produce promotional materials and souvenirs for Can Tho tourism and to accelerate digital transformation in tourism management and operations.
