In the period 2004 - 2010, due to the spirit of unity, the Party committee and the people of Binh Thuy District had tried to achieve and exceed targets and tasks set by the resolutions. Socio - economy continued to develop;  infrastructure was upgraded and invested; capital raising and using social capital in the area was in the right direction and used for the right purposes; cultural and social activities had much progress; people's lives were constantly improved; “All people unite to build cultural life” movement continued to be promoted. Social welfare and policies were implemented well; government-policy beneficiary families and poor ones were better cared for. There were some initial positive results in the administrative reforms; national defense and security were stable; political - social order and safety continued to remain good. The campaign "Study and follow the moral example of President Ho Chi Minh" spread widely in the community and positively impacted the education of political ideology, ethics and healthful lifestyle for cadres and party members and people. The political system at all levels constantly reinforced and consolidated meeting the requirements and tasks.

The party committee and the people of Binh Thuy District have implemented the Resolution of the 10th Congress of District Party Committee, tenure 2010 - 2015, in a favorable condition of stable politics, gradual economic - social development, and well organized political systems. In particular, many city and district planning and building projects have been implemented. Binh Thuy has been chosen as the steering spot to improve the quality of Party units by the Party Committee of Can Tho City. The district has received much attention, support and assistance of the High Command of Military Zone 9, Party Committee of Can Tho City, People's Committees and other organizations ...

In the period 2010 - 2015 and to 2020, the Party Committee and the locals of Binh Thuy District strive to develop the economy with the rapid and sustainable growth, coupled with implementation of progress and social justice in consistent with the strategic direction and overall planning of socio economic development of Can Tho City in the age of accelerated industrialization, modernization and international integration. At the same time, the district will establish a comprehensive system of urban infrastructure; implement social welfare policies well; stabilize political situation, social order and safety; strengthen national defense - security and build a clean and strong political system.
