Can Tho builds 60 charity houses for religious people

On April 11, the Standing Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, along with Can Tho Municipal Police Department, Can Tho Municipal Military Command, Can Tho Youth Union, and authorities of O Mon district, held a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of 60 charity houses for Hoa Hao Buddhist and Catholic households in the city. These houses will be built to help those in need and provide them with a safe and comfortable place to live.
Secretary of the Party Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Van Hieu attended the ceremony.

This event also aims to welcome the 8th Congress of Delegates of the Vietnam Youth Union of Can Tho City, term 2024 - 2029.

The ceremony had the participation of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho Municipal Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Member of Can Tho Municipal Party Standing Committee and Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City; Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho Municipal People's Committee; and representatives of relevant departments and agencies in Can Tho City.

At the ceremony, Chairman of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City Nguyen Trung Nhan highlighted the recent efforts of Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Can Tho City at all levels to support disadvantaged families and religious believers in the area. These efforts included providing practical assistance and supporting the construction of houses for families in urgent need of housing. Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees of Can Tho City has implemented these programs effectively at all levels, making a significant impact in the community.

The program received widespread support and active participation from all levels, sectors, organizations, individuals, businesses, and philanthropists both inside and outside Can Tho City during its launch. As a result, hundreds of houses for poor, near-poor, and disadvantaged households are built annually, bringing joy and happiness to those in need.

The total cost of building the 60 charity houses mentioned above was 3 billion VND, thanks to the strong mobilization of sponsors by Can Tho city leaders. Chairman Nguyen Trung Nhan hopes that this support will create additional resources to help these disadvantaged families overcome difficulties, stabilize their lives, and contribute to the implementation of social security policies while strengthening the Great National Unity bloc in the city.

To ensure timely progress and adherence to the plan, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan requested the Standing Committees of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the districts to collaborate with the Youth Unions of districts to select reputable contractors capable of construction, built according to approved designs and estimates and ensuring timely progress with the best quality, soon put into use for people.
