In the 2022-2023 academic year, despite the nationwide efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, with the spirit of making the most of every precious moment, "Not attending school but not stopping learning" through the dedication and hard work of teachers and students, as well as the care and guidance of Party leaders and local authorities, the close supervision of the Can Tho City Department of Education and Training, the Ninh Kieu District Department of Education and Training, and the wholehearted support of parent representatives and philanthropists, Doan Thi Diem Middle School has achieved highly encouraging results. The student enrollment rate has been maintained, the proportion of excellent and good students has increased, the number of weak students has decreased, the rate of middle school graduates has risen, and the ratio of students admitted to public high schools in the recent entrance examination for 10th grade has increased significantly.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Government Tran Hong Ha attended the opening ceremony at Doan Thi Diem Middle School.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government Tran Hong Ha shared: "After a long summer break, today the schoolyard is once again filled with joy and the love of a high-quality educational environment. From the moment I stepped into the school, I felt the warm affection of the teachers; and the radiant joy in the eyes of the students on this first day back to school."

Based on the school's report and the leaders of the education sector in Can Tho, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha highly praised the achievements that the teachers and students of Doan Thi Diem Middle School have accomplished over the years. The teachers, the students of Doan Thi Diem Middle School, and their families have every right to be proud of the school's traditions and outstanding achievements in teaching, learning, and character development.

The reasons behind these remarkable achievements are numerous, but above all, it is the tradition, the depth of expertise, and the extraordinary efforts of both teachers and students. It is also the care and support provided by the local government and the students' families. All of these factors have contributed to creating an exemplary and high-quality educational environment.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presented gifts to Doan Thi Diem secondary school on the occasion of the new academic year's opening ceremony.

In the most beautiful days of their lives, during their "wonder years," the students get to live in an environment filled with the love and care of their teachers. They can freely play with their friends, explore the vast horizon of knowledge, and receive an education rooted in the history and rich culture of their homeland and their people. Moreover, they will learn important lessons about self-respect, honesty, and tolerance, and they develop the essential skills of a global citizen in this new era.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha hopes that each student will always study diligently, love their family, possess a sense of curiosity, and share, and empathize with those facing difficulties. He encourages them to appreciate beauty, cherish nature, cultivate physical fitness through regular exercise and sports, and excel in foreign languages to access the treasure trove of human knowledge and culture.

To be prepared to master new knowledge and adapt to rapid global changes, you should cultivate a high level of self-study, self-discovery, and creativity. Become lifelong learners, constantly striving to improve yourselves. From here, you will grow into global citizens, equipped with global knowledge and skills, leading an industrious, cultured, and modern lifestyle while always harboring a deep love for your country, its people, and your homeland. Always make the highest effort to contribute to the industrialization, modernization, development, and protection of our nation. This is the message Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha conveys to the students.

Additionally, as children of the Mekong Delta, an area heavily impacted by climate change and rising sea levels, you are encouraged to be role models and pioneers through practical actions that inspire the community to implement effective climate change adaptation measures and environmental protection proactively.

Emphasizing the importance of establishing a safe and healthy learning environment, focused on a cohesive learning community where every student has the opportunity to develop and showcase their talents, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government Tran Hong Ha recommends that the Ministry of Education and Training, the leadership of the City Party Committee, the People's Committee of Can Tho City, and all relevant authorities pay even closer attention to policies, infrastructure for teachers, and learning facilities. This is essential to effectively implement the new general education curriculum and achieve the goals of universal education outlined in the 13th Party Congress Resolution, ensuring the fundamental principle that "where there are students, there must be teachers in the classroom."

The students participated in the opening ceremony.
