With a flight time of two hours and 20 minutes, it’s easy for people to travel from the capital of the Southwest region to Quang Ninh, the key economic region of the Northeast, home to the world’s natural heritage Ha Long Bay.
Quang Ninh province has more than 600 historical, cultural, and artistic relics, traditional festivals, and famous national monuments such as Yen Tu Pagoda, Cua Ong Temple, Bach Dang historical site, and Tran Dynasty historical relics. In particular, Quang Ninh also has hundreds of intangible cultural heritages. Four of them have been included in the list of national intangible cultural heritages. Blessed by nature, Quang Ninh is famous for many beautiful tourist destinations such as Ha Long Bay, Co To Island, Quan Lan, Binh Lieu, etc. Therefore, Quang Ninh province is a favorite destination on the world tourist map.
While Can Tho is the center of the Mekong Delta, the gateway to the rich Southwest region with many typical cultural and economic features. The first direct air route connecting Can Tho and Quang Ninh brings the good news to people and tourists that they can easily travel between provinces for the first time, contributing to promoting trade, economy, and tourism between the two provinces as well as two key economic regions.
Mr. Nguyen Thuc Hien, Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, said that the launch of the new route is expected to enable Can Tho to woo more international and domestic visitors to the region, thereby contributing to promoting trade, economy, and tourism between two localities as well as two key economic regions.
