Giving 140 gifts to the poor and disadvantaged people in Can Tho

On the afternoon of April 9th, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City coordinated with the Volunteer Group of Catalys Foundation and the Union of Friendship Organizations of Can Tho City to present 140 gifts to patients with serious illnesses, women's union members, students who overcome difficulties to study well in poor households, near-poor households, households with extremely difficult circumstances in Can Tho city.
Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and representative of the sponsor presented gifts to households in difficult circumstances at the ceremony.

Each gift of Catalys Foundation is worth 500,000 VND, including rice and essential necessities; Particularly, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho city supports an additional 500,000 VND in cash.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City - thanked the volunteer group of Catalys Foundation for visiting and coordinating to give gifts to poor and near-poor households in difficult circumstances in the city, and considered this a meaningful and deeply humane activity, providing more resources along with the Fatherland Front and the city's member organizations to better take care of the poor and disadvantaged people to stabilize their lives.

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City and Ms. Le Thi Thanh Giang, Chairman of the City Union of Friendship Organizations presented flowers and a letter of thanks to the donor.

According to Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, in recent times, together with the city's departments and agencies, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee at all city levels has carried out many practical activities to support and help poor households escape poverty, contributing to the effective implementation of the emulation movement “Can Tho joins hands for the poor - Leaving no one behind”.

In 2024 and the first months of 2025, Fatherland Front Committees at all levels and member organizations have mobilized resources inside and outside the city to implement many social security activities such as: building Great Solidarity houses, responding to the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary houses and dilapidated houses” in the city; giving livelihood capital support, giving gifts to the poor, poor patients, children with disabilities and children who overcome difficulties to study well...

Mr. Nguyen Trung Nhan - Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Can Tho City, expressed his gratitude to the donor.

 

The Fatherland Front Committee at all levels of the city have mobilized an amount of over 27 billion VND, from the fund “For the Poor” to build and repair 515 great solidarity houses, with a total value of 25 billion 690 million VND; awarded livelihood capital support to 20 households with the will to strive to make a living, including poor households, near-poor households, and households in especially difficult circumstances. In particular, responding to the emulation movement “Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses”, Can Tho city is implementing the construction of 531 houses for meritorious families, poor and near-poor households with the determination that by April 25th, 2025, it will be basically completed.

Ms. Le Thi Thanh Giang, Chairwoman of the Can Tho City Union of Friendship Organizations, presented gifts to households in extremely difficult circumstances at the ceremony.

 

 

 

 

 

The Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the city hopes that in the coming time, the Volunteer Group of Catalys Foundation will organize more social security activities in Can Tho city, making practical contributions to social security work in the locality.

The Catalyst Foundation is a non-governmental organization established in the United States. In Vietnam, the Catalyst Foundation was granted an operating license by the People's Aid Co-ordinating Committee (PACCOM) in February 2024. This organization operates in the field of helping communities, orphans, disadvantaged children to improve their lives and organize local community programs to provide necessities, find jobs, provide counseling services, and provide educational support to prevent child trafficking.
