The survey team is visiting various provinces, including Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Kien Giang, Vinh Long, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Can Tho, and Dong Thap, to assess the tourism operations of selected sites over the past three years (2023–2025). In Can Tho City, four locations are included in this year’s evaluation: Cai Rang Floating Market (pictured), Truc Lam Phuong Nam Zen Monastery, Ong De Ecotourism Village, and My Khanh Ecotourism Village.
The assessment is based on a set of criteria that includes: area, infrastructure, facilities, human resources, tourism services and products, visitor numbers, valid certifications for food safety, fire prevention and control, security and order, as well as environmental protection measures. These factors serve as the foundation for an initial evaluation.
Following the survey of destinations throughout the Mekong Delta, the Mekong Delta Tourism Association will convene a council to vote on the region’s Outstanding Tourism Sites for 2025. The Association will officially issue decisions recognizing, re-certifying, and honoring selected sites, with the award ceremony scheduled for the Vietnam Tourism Day celebration on July 9, 2025.
