With the warm welcome of Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of Can Tho City Party Committee, Mr. Shin Choong Il, Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City, had a cultural experience in Can Tho at this festival. The Consul General expressed his interest and excitement in the unique and rich cultural features of the land and people of Can Tho.

Respect and understanding of cultural differences serve as a foundation for fostering empathy, trust, and cultural exchange, which will spread cooperation opportunities to other fields, creating mutually beneficial connections for the people and businesses of both nations. The image of the Consul General of Korea in Ho Chi Minh City experiencing Can Tho's culture, guided by the Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee, exemplifies the beautiful cultural diplomacy of Can Tho in this era of globalization.

Mr. Shin Choong Il was invited to enjoy the Southern folk cake, prepared by artisans from Binh Thuy district. “Can Tho folk cakes (Can Tho city)” was recognized by the Asian Record Organization in 2023.

Banana cakes, Steamed sponge cake (Banh bo), apricot leaf cakes (Banh la mo)...with coconut milk conquered the Consul General. After eating and praising the deliciousness, Mr. Shin Choong Il invited Mr. Choi Seung Jin, First Secretary of the Korean Embassy in Vietnam and Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Vietnam, to try them.

After eating durian cake invited by Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu, Mr. Shin Choong Il raised his finger to signify greatness. The Secretary of the City Party Committee also introduced that Can Tho has durian growing area in Tan Thoi commune, Phong Dien district, with a large area, giving delicious fruits, whether used for direct eating or food processing.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu and Mr. Duong Tan Hien, Permanent Vice Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee, introduced to the Consul General about handicraft products made by the people of Cai Rang district.

Stopping at the performance booth “Thuan Hung rice paper making (Thuan Hung ward, Thot Not district) - National intangible cultural heritage”, Mr. Shin Choong Il personally experienced the coconut rice paper roll and invited people to enjoy it. This is a memorable image at Vietnam - Korea Culture Day in Can Tho City this year.
