During the meeting, Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien shared information about the projects that Can Tho City calls for investment. He introduced three investment projects to SUEZ, including the Thot Not 2 Water Plant, Thoi Lai Solid Waste Treatment Plant, and a wastewater treatment plant.

Specifically, Can Tho is inviting investors for the Thot Not 2 Water Plant and Thoi Lai Solid Waste Treatment Plant through a bidding process to select the investor.

Currently, the People's Committee of Thot Not District has submitted a proposal, and Can Tho Municipal Department of Planning and Investment is seeking appraisal opinions from relevant departments and sectors.

As for the Solid Waste Treatment Plant, Thoi Lai District People's Committee is assigned to prepare the proposal documents. After the project is approved and the bidding is announced, investors can participate in the bidding to select investors according to regulations.

Representatives of the Can Tho City People's Committee and SUEZ Group of France at the meeting on August 20.

Meanwhile, Can Tho is calling for investment into 10 wastewater treatment projects through Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangements or direct investment. Interested investors can submit detailed proposals for each project, outlining the collection system and wastewater treatment plant. The city will provide support and feedback according to regulations.

Vice Chairman Duong Tan Hien emphasized that Can Tho authorities create favorable conditions for SUEZ to explore cooperation opportunities in the areas of its interest in Can Tho. Additionally, he requested the SUEZ's representatives to work directly and exchange information with the city’s departments and agencies to understand more about the information and procedures required for investors.

Farchad Kaviani, Managing Director of Southeast Asia of SUEZ Group of France, expressed his gratitude to Can Tho authorities for providing detailed information about projects in fields that SUEZ is interested in at Can Tho City.

According to Farchad Kaviani, SUEZ is a French corporation with extensive experience in investing in water treatment projects, industrial water treatment, and other water-related projects. Currently, they have invested in numerous projects and provided water treatment technology across various Southeast Asian countries, including Vietnam. Therefore, the projects that Can Tho City is seeking investment for are well-suited to SUEZ's strengths and investment cooperation demand.
