In the southwestern region, every family usually has an altar for Ong Thien placed in the front, known as the Ong Thien altar or Thong Thien altar. This is a form of worshiping the Heavenly God according to popular beliefs. On the Ong Thien altar, the household owner sticks two red papers, one horizontally and one vertically, with the words "Nghinh xuan tiep phuoc" (Welcoming the Spring, Receiving Blessings) and "Thien quan tu phuoc" (Heavenly Official Bestows Four Blessings). Additionally, in a high position above the house's entrance, they hang a red paper talisman. At the beginning of each year, the talisman on the door and the two papers on the Ông Thien altar are taken down and replaced.
