The third Japan - Vietnam Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho

On October 3, 2017, Can Tho city People’s Committee, Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in Can Tho held a press conference to introduce the third Japan - Vietnam Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho, that will take place in 3 days (from 3- 5 of November 2017).

The third Japan - Vietnam Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho is a regional- level event with 120 booths designed in harmony with Vietnamese and Japanese festivals, of which 15 booths introduce Japanese culture and products, 15 booths introduce Vietnamese culture and products, 90 booths are for Vietnamese and Japanese enterprises displaying and introducing products and services.

Attending the exhibition are agricultural and industrial products, tourism, logistics, food, education, employment, pharmacy, consumer goods, souvenir and Japanese technology products, such as high-tech equipment, robot automation, intelligent technology products with artificial intelligence (AI) applications.

Within the framework of the program, there are important economic trade activities such as, conference on Japanese investment in the Mekong Delta which will be held on November 4,  2017 morning at Muong Thanh Hotel. The conference aims to link trade and call for investment cooperation in the fields of agriculture, manufacturing machinery for agriculture, food processing, environmental improvement, development of medicine, human resource training and human health improvement. In the afternoon of the same day, the 59th Asian Business Conference will be held, with the dialogue session with 60 companies from Japan, investors and experts of the Mekong Delta.

In addition to cooperation activities in doing business, there are cultural and art exchange activities with 40 items performed by actors from Japan, Ho Chi Minh City, Can Tho and Da Nang, such as traditional cultural performances like Yosakoi, martial arts (Japan), “Don ca tai tu” (Southern amateur music),   traditional martial arts of Vietnam and so on.

The third Japan-Vietnam Cultural and Trade Exchange Program in Can Tho is the event that attracts the attention of Japanese enterprises to Can Tho in particular and the Mekong Delta in general. Step by step, it helps the enterprises of both countries more and more strengthen the cooperation and investment in the Mekong Delta.

Adding more information at the press conference, Mr. Nguyen Phuong Lam, deputy director of VCCI Branch in Can Tho, said that on October 25, 2017, the 5th Mekong Investment Conference (Mekong invest 2017) will be held at Muong Thanh Hotel in Can Tho. At the conference, 13 provinces and cities in the region will introduce and invite the investment for 24 tourism development projects with a total capital of VND 7.88 billion and 33 real estate projects and infrastructure with a total capital of VND 176.000 billion. The conference aims to discuss, propose smooth policies to attract investors and provide information about the investment projects as well as create a connection between foreign investors and local authorities.
