On March 31st afternoon, from the information at the meeting among the organizers of the Southern Traditional Cake Festival in 2017, there were about 25 hotels in Can Tho city putting their names on the list of promotional programs in which nearly 1,000 rooms are free or reduced and 756 rooms are discounted by 30%-50% for delegates and visitors attending the festival. At present, there are 250 booths with more than 100 kinds of traditional cakes from 15 provinces and cities in the country and 8 foreign countries participating in the festival. 16 teams registered the Southern Traditional Cake Competition. The preparation of the festival was basically completed.

Speaking at the meeting as a festival administrator, Mr. Le Van Tam - Permanent Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Can Tho City requested that the booths should be decorated impressively to attract visitors. The preparation and operation of the festival must be assured that electricity, food and fire are safe. The city’s tourism has to send official letters to tourist areas to remind everyone of  having positive attitudes towards visitors and avoiding “hacking” them when they come to the Southern Traditional Cake Festival.
