According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Dung, Can Tho City will implement synchronously, continuously and conclusively the main solutions about improving the environment for investing and trading together with the plan for starting up and developing enterprises period  2016- 2020, to continue implement effectively the Resolution No. 35/NQ-CP. The city will focus on creating Investment Fund for the start- up business, start- up eco- system and promote creative start-up activities. The focus is on some main industries, such as processing, manufacturing, supporting industry. In addition, the city will take interest in supporting the start- up projects of the youth, creating an effective start- up ecosystem to promote the general development of Can Tho City and the Mekong Delta in the future. The city is looking forward to building a safe competitive secure flowing investment environment to protect the freedom in doing business for people and enterprises.

After one year of implementing the Resolution No 35 of the Government, the start-up business movement in Can Tho is quite exciting, attracting the interest of enterprise community, investors and relevant organizations, individuals. Through the policies to support the start- up business, develop enterprises, Can Tho has created a safe competitive flowing investment environment for more than 6.900 enterprises of all types in the region, reached 26% of the total enterprises in the Mekong Delta.

On March 17th 2017, the People’s Committee of Can Tho City issued the Plan No 41/KH-UBND, namely “Starting up enterprises in Can Tho City up to 2020”. According to this plan, Can Tho city will focus on supporting start- up activities, such as start- up communication, organizing a start- up contest to find and honor individuals, enterprises having the realizable ideas and start- up projects that can be able to connect the investment funds and implement in reality. Can Tho City strives to have at least13.800 operating enterprises up to 2020 and about 30- 35% of enterprises in the city having innovative, creative activities every year.
